TTC Bus 46 - where we're all off on our holidays (let's hope that means more BFPs - rubbish results for July!)

Mad scramble from the opposite side of the country to where I normally live to keep the bus running as @minster2012 still has connectivity issues. I'm on holiday in Suffolk with only limited signal so very likely to have missed people, particularly any newbies - it's not personal, I'm very sorry and in exchange I won't charge you for the ticket!

Here is the bus where anything goes, and chat isn’t just TTC it’s anything. Ranting very much encouraged to her things off your (are they sore boobs?!) chest. The last bus had loads of work promotions too & we’ve still got interviews so hopefully it’s a lucky bus in more ways than just making babies...let's hope this one has more BFPs and more house luck!

We are here to help and support each other & anything goes. We’ve had losses, heartache & some super fertile short ride passengers so welcome all.

I don't NEED to do it @larrythelizard but it's pretty depressing isn't it with its "feature" wall a la Lawrence lewellyn Bowen and sticky back plastic around the light switch & dark areas where pictures have been 🤣😂plus I've cleared my work week to do "house moving stuff" and I'm ahead of schedule so I feel like I ought to do something on what should be a work day when X at preschool 🙈(& his actual stuff from the other house like his pictures won't go in here now) so ho hum

@amy2503 how old are you? If you are young and in no rush then it's OK to hold off on the tests. But as @Juno231 says- everything takes ages! And some areas are worse than others too. Mine aren't slow but it's just all the stuff you have to get through.
@Vil10 aaarrrgghhh. That's all I can say about the house. But it does tend to be like that. One we had an offer accepted on, the woman later decided she didn't want to sell after all. 🙄 Luckily before we'd spent any money on surveys etc but it's still a pain.

I'm really young. I'm only about to turn 23 after Christmas. It doesn't stop the pain though. @paintfairy
I recently found out that because I've step-children, I won't get ivf funded. I don't want to go and hear those words. I know it's stupid.

@amy2503 I second everyone, if you will eventually go for test, you may as well start, it'll take ages

@amy2503 being young means you've got more time though. Time to plan and save for ivf if that's what you need. The nhs will do all the tests (just not ivf) so that'll save you some money. And actually they might come up with an answer before that stage. I'm 38 so every year to me really matters right now. Many clinics do refund packages etc which might be worth looking into it and under 35 you pretty much are eligible for most. There are options, and you have time on your side to sort it.

Welcome to the newbies, this is a fab bus to join for your journeys! I'm usually more chatty but on my hols at mo so struggling to keep up everyday this week.

@Vil10 I'm sorry about the house.

@Minster2012 that wedding was a fortnight before my own wedding so I'd been doing a zillion squats to fit into my own very unforgiving dress and had quads of steel. If it happened today I would have collapsed as I haven't done a squat or lifted a weight since then. In my defence I developed hashimotos just after the wedding and could hardly function for a few months and my endocrinologist told me to take it very easy for a while. I'll start up again in the next few weeks.

@Silver31 that story is hilarious and absolutely horrifying I would have reacted with screaming and vomiting probably so fair play to you for keeping a cool head!

@amy2503 what? Who's annoyed with you? Don't worry, bad vibes are not allowed in this bus, we support each other on everything, wait for my insomnia and you'll find my midnight rambles

@amy2503 I think that's your anxiety talking! No one is annoyed with you - come and vent here - we've heard it all before!

@amy2503 I was reluctant to go for testing too and held off until I was about 13-14 months. Part of the reason I held off was because I had 2 chemicals though so I felt at the time that I would be wasting their time as I was at least able to catch. I probably would have held off even longer if I was under 30. Even if IVF funding isn't available to you in your circumstances I'm sure they can still run tests and offer you anything that might help you conceive naturally. I got my sticky BFP just before my appointment with the fertility clinic happened so never had any assistance in the end but I had such relief from being tested at my GP to check my hormone levels were ok, that I was ovulating and getting a referral booked in. It does take some weight off your shoulders once your on the system for the tests and brings some much needed hope.

@Vil10 gutted for you on the house. Hopefully something else better will come up soon though and at least you won't have the same urgency with trying to sell as quickly.

@amy2503 there's definitely every point in you going for the tests to have them going on in the background! Like @InkyPaper says you can have the tests with having the step children just not the ivf and use the time being young to save up so why not? Go for it and maybe have a chat to the gp as well about the anxiety over TTC?

@Juno231 GET THEE TO YORKSHIRE and I will put on Abba and we will sing and paint 🤣😂I've just thought maybe toddler will suddenly decide he likes the other paint. Shit. That's great news on the BTL mortgage front, I guess that's the forms on the cladding??

@Minster2012 yes EWS1 is that pesky cladding form. Which isn't required for buildings sub 18m yet every bank so far has been ignoring that and requiring one regardless! ABBA!! And I really enjoy painting! Although I have a feeling I'd quickly learn to dislike it in a house as big as yours

Speaking of Scandinavians and weddings,
I've been invited to a wedding in Norway in October. I'd like to go but I'm nervous of travel at the moment, I'll be on letrozole by then and whilst I love Norway, it is so expensive!

@larrythelizard I keep telling myself this I'm just so nervous in case the sale goes through and we have to move back to parents separately until we find something, which when TTC is going to be so so hard!!

@Minster2012 I just thought I can at least try, the worse they could say was no! You're right, it might be just what I need!! However I can feel af coming and going off my last few I'll be in so much pain!! I've got my phone app with the gp tomorrow to discuss results so I'm going to mention my awful periods! I'll never understand the random sink in that room😂

@amy2503 you haven't annoyed anyone don't worry! If you too nervous to go for tests then maybe carry on trying naturally but please don't put so much pressure on yourself! I'm on month 19 and the pressure has halved since the start of TTC and I feel so much better for it! Like the others have said, with being young you can use this time to save and save and you will get your baby, just stay positive

So only 9dpo, according to flo af due on Saturday, obviously, why wouldn't she be when I have my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party on Saturday and then out in Manchester on Sunday, and I deffo feel like she's on her way so not even hoping for a BFP, and she feels like she's coming with anger!! I have my phone app tomorrow morning with the doctor to discuss my blood results and hopefully my prolactin bloods are better this time, so I'm going to mention to her about my bad periods, I have quite a high pain threshold but last month was just awful, I dread her arriving especially when I have plans!

I mean I can't think why you want to decorate that room @Minster2012...do get what you mean about wanting to just get on with it!

Also you might not need IVF, it might be something much less invasive/expensive @amy2503. I'm one that wants to know facts though and then deal with them afterwards - it's not for everyone - only you know what's right for you.

Definitely mention your horrible periods @Vil10, it might kick off another avenue of investigation. In the last year or so I've got better at not worrying about things I can't control...took lots of practice but getting there, might be a good one for you to work on? House buying and selling is horrible horrible horrible!

Thanks everyone. I think the plan was to give it a few more months and then go... although it's been over a year, my fiancé has been completely Burnt out (he's a nurse) for the last 5 months so there are months that I definitely know we wouldn't have conceived on. If that makes sense xx

@amy2503 you're right, you have plenty of time if you want to hold off testing for a while. You can use this time to save up, or to work on your stress and anxiety to be in the best place possible when you do become pregnant. I started attending Gestalt psychotherapy a few months into TTC and whilst it costs a lot it is worth it for me as an investment in my future and it helps with the stress of TTC and my other anxieties. I stopped buying things I don't really need in order to justify the cost of the counselling.

@Juno231 jesus that's a big saving, so is that a remortgage using a BTL mortgage? Do you have it rented out atm? My bro needs to do the same, his mortgage came up for remortgage at the time he wanted to sell and now he can't get new one cos of the cladding. Not sure exactly how many metres they are but 3rd floor so I guess higher 😬but good to see things are loosening now. I find painting relaxing in the main part but I guess currently all I'm doing is just for 18 months with leftovers til we actually change it all so it's a bit meh, not proper redecorating
