TTC Bus 46 - where we're all off on our holidays (let's hope that means more BFPs - rubbish results for July!)

Mad scramble from the opposite side of the country to where I normally live to keep the bus running as @minster2012 still has connectivity issues. I'm on holiday in Suffolk with only limited signal so very likely to have missed people, particularly any newbies - it's not personal, I'm very sorry and in exchange I won't charge you for the ticket!

Here is the bus where anything goes, and chat isn’t just TTC it’s anything. Ranting very much encouraged to her things off your (are they sore boobs?!) chest. The last bus had loads of work promotions too & we’ve still got interviews so hopefully it’s a lucky bus in more ways than just making babies...let's hope this one has more BFPs and more house luck!

We are here to help and support each other & anything goes. We’ve had losses, heartache & some super fertile short ride passengers so welcome all.

@polkadotpixie I would suggest not temping from now on as it causes a lot of anxiety, just go by the tests for a bit. I stopped as soon as I got a bfp line as I knew any slight deviation would terrify me. That's a good line I'd say!

Nothing to report here. Other than I've already ranted at @InkyPaper this morning about clinic stats. Because the more you look the more you realise they mean very little. This is what i really need to know: how many people went to the clinic for a baby, and came out with one? Nothing more. And actually also did you bother looking into their issues first or just waste time and money having a go, to find out there is a reason and we can do it better next time?

Those things are what I need to know. 🧐

@paintfairy that's frustrating! I suppose there are many variables ie people may have stopped treatment for different reasons. Can you contact the clinics yourself to ask these questions or have you just got to choose based on what nhs have offered to you?

DH in a huff with me 😆, I don't think IBU; we were talking about when people ask "when are you having another baby" etc "are you trying" and he said yeah it doesn't upset him when people ask. He said it's just like people asking how is your dad for example after having a stroke. I categorically disagreed as that would be a nice thing to show concern and ask someone where as with TTC they're just plain f*cking nosey/inconsiderate to peoples circumstances . Anyway he's in a huff that I categorically disagreed so he's now "angry cleaning" - silver lining either way 🙈

@Manifestingbaby taking a break until next cycle, just not preventing, sex is fun only again, cycle wise? If the spotting was a period, or even a cp as dh thinks, would be mid cycle, if it was random spotting, wasn’t much at all but stretched over a week, then who knows, I am choosing to not think about it, I feel better and more relaxed, I just need a few weeks of not living life according to cm

@Franklydear sex for fun! What's that?! This morning when we were lying in bed trying to summon the energy to have our scheduled sex DH asked if we could just call a vet to do an insemination instead. Hilarious!

It's our first wedding anniversary (though we've been together for 13 years) so he's taking me on a surprise somewhere and dinner later. We took tomorrow off work.

@paintfairy saw a UK insta ivf account saying they had a dna frag test done privately only to realise the results were terrible and ivf would never have worked with the current swimmers. They'd already wasted one nhs round and the NHS were just gonna push them straight into their final go. I think they were quite frustrated that so little is properly looked at and doctors are just chancing it with ivf

Gah so I've got 6 weeks left of my 3 month notice and I shit you not i have yet to pass the security checks. Getting a bit nervous now. They've been asking little questions here and there but the latest one was asking for proof that I work at manager level when my title in my contract is generic - I explained that title vs role isn't the same at my company due to its flat structure etc but am worried they the external security company won't get it and flag me as a no/fail or something.

@Juno231 yes that's my concern! Why haven't they checked this? And I'm not sure they will at the next stage either.
I think I would be stressed too, but hopefully it's just box ticking?

Well baby shower went really well, the mum to be loved it and was so happy!! I didn't drink at 10:30, but I did end up turning it into a day into night thing, got absolutely shit faced, safe to say I've never thrown up as much as I have today, felt absolutely horrendous this morning, havent ate anything yet, but really fancying McDonald's now for tea!! DH took me to a really fancy hotel in a nearby city for the night. So sweet of him. I feel like it may be a consolation prize for all the upset that we still don't have a baby/pregnancy but I don't care. It's lovely here and we got a free upgrade to an executive suite so that's nice.

@paintfairy I also agree the stats are both totally confusing and utterly pointless it seems. I think there's a lot to be said for a good service. At my clinic we jokingly call the consultant nurse (head nurse) the angel of death Cos she delivers everything as though it's a death sentence. And it's AWFUL. Whereas there a lovely nurse. But honestly the angel of death ours me right off. So if @Sunbird24 has had a good experience at care then I think it goes a long way for a hard process. My clinic also don't change much each time. Which seems a bit pointless. But we don't have any other options really within commutable distance. Shall we book to go to the moon???
