Help! Third time lucky? Pregnant after 2 miscarriages

Hi

Please can I get some help or advice.

Amazingly I tested positive today after 18 months of trying and 2 miscarriages. As I'm 42+ so obviously very nervous. We actually have our IVF consultation booked for this month.

Can I ask if anyone has any tips about miscarriage prevention. Our early pregnancy unit will see me at 6 weeks but I'm wondering how ill stay sane until then.

I'm really keen to continue with exercise but petrified of anything that may change things.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for your losses, and congratulations on your bfp! I know it must be an incredibly anxious time, but it will help to keep yourself as busy as you can atm to avoid that awful and totally understandable worry spiralling! (I'm 38 & just about to enter into the two week wait after a miscarriage and an ectopic so I'm booking up my calendar solid, lol).

You might want to talk to your gp about progesterone suppositories and low dose aspirin (75mg). I think these two are often prescribed before any confirmed test results as a precautionary measure against low progesterone and a possible clotting issue.

Have you been referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic? If not, I would push for that with your epau if you can. It's usually only available to those ttc after three losses, but your age and the amount of time you've spent ttc may help your case.

@weathervane123
Thanks for the reply and sorry for your losses that must be so hard. I have my fingers crossed for you

I've been to the reoccurring miscarriage clinic and had all tests and basically (very unhelpfully) was told I was fine just old!

The EPU have been brilliant, I spoke with them this morning and they won't see me until 6 weeks, however I've been taking aspirin daily since ovulation.
I was looking for tips on food what to eat/ not to eat and basically any fish wife take to keep my mind occupied as opposed to randomly googling.
This morning I googled what tea helps to prevent miscarriages!

Oh the craziness begins!!!
