Are my cycles normal

Hi ladies

After a ectopic pregnancy in March this year and a 6 weeks miscarriage in June this year I'm now worrying something is wrong me me.

So my cycle since coming of the pill seems to have fallen at 27 days. My Luteal phase is 14 days and I seem to get a Peak LH on day 11 which means I ovulate on day 12 right?

My periods are only 2-3 days long MAX with day 1 being the heaviest.

Is this normal? Am I ovulating too early and therefore my body not having a thickened enough lining to help conceive?

And is there anything I can do to ovulate later or is this quite normal for my cycle length?

I'm just so fed up. I try and 'chill out' about it but seem to always find something to worry about.

Any help/success stories/advice is very much appreciated Smile

Sorry for your losses.

You have been pregnant twice in the last 7 months so it doesn't sound like your cycles are a problem. Your luteal phase length is fine at 14 days and if a luteal phase defect was an issue you wouldn't have had the two pregnancies.

It's most likely really unfortunate coincidences. Fingers crossed you get a BFP again soon

Hi @KJW00 I'm sorry for your losses. I agree that your cycles sound fine to me.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 03/08/2021 15:23

Your cycles sound normal - ovulation day, luteal phase, period length are all normal range

@KJW00 I am in more or less the same boat....

Been trying to conceive since July 2019
July 2019 had coil out and periods returned to every 28days
Pregnant October 2019 - MMC found at 8 weeks
Periods changed to 25days - ovulate around 12/13 day
Pregnant September 2020 - MMC found at 10 weeks
Period changed to 26 days
Pregnant March 2021 - CP at 4wk 3days
Periods still at 26 days

I have 2 days of normal bleeding and 1 day of horrible brown spotting

Hi op. Sorry to hear what a tough time you've been having. Your cycle sounds perfect.
Have you read "taking charge of your fertility" and "it starts with the egg"?
They have really helped me to understand my cycle better and I have started to take some of the supplements recommended to improve egg quality.

Pressed post too soon...

My periods were exactly the same (in length and flow) before the 15 years of IUD and I managed to have two children (now aged 17 and 14)

So I am just hoping it hasn't been the right time yet/wasn't meant to be

I have been seen my the recurrent miscarriage clinic and they didn't seem bothered at all about short cycles with short flow

KJW00 · 03/08/2021 16:51

@bbd72 thank you for your reply. I'm Sorry for 3 losses Thanks

I am hoping maybe my time isn't yet and it will come but it's such a worry as it's totally out of our control! I'm trying to stay positive but with the 2 losses it's quite hard. Especially when every tom dick and Harry seem to be announcing pregnancy!!

By sounds of these replies my cycle seems pretty normal and maybe it was bad luck but no further tests until another loss Sad

@QueenLagertha thank you. I will have a look into reading those both Smile you've reassured me my cycle is normal so that's made me feel 100x better.

Let's hope the future has a BFP that goes full term waiting for me Daffodil

You don't sound stupid @KJW00, getting pregnant and staying pregnant feels like it should be the easiest thing in the world, but about 20% of women experience pregnancy loss and other struggle with fertility. It's just not that common knowledge because it is still quite taboo.

Have you had any counselling for your losses? My friend had two early losses and found the Tommy's helpline good.

KJW00 · 03/08/2021 17:28

@darcey87 thank you. I know I'm finding it the hardest thing to bloody do.

I did have a counselling session after my ectopic pregnancy which helped and then fell pregnant again which seems to help even more until I unfortunately miscarried.

I will maybe look into booking another session.

It's just once you've got into your head you want to start a family it's hard to put it to the back of your mind and go with the 'relax and it'll happen' approach Sad

@KJW00 I know exactly what you mean, the losses are devastating but I know my time will hopefully come

I had two MCs in between my older children as well it never gets any easier just I'm better at hiding my pain now although I have decided that I am not telling anyone next time until I am 24 weeks when the baby becomes viable ha

Good luck on your ttc journey and there are many many threads on here with people in the same position just join a couple talking with people going through the same really does help sometimes x

KJW00 · 05/08/2021 21:24

@bbd72 I'm sorry you had do go through all the losses but your time will comeDaffodil

Yes me and my partner have said the same. We are going to keep it to ourselves for as long as possible! I'm just gutted the fun of it has now been replaced with worry if I ever see another positive test Sad

Thank you. I have joined a few and there are so supportive and helpful. All the best to you on your journey Thanks
