Low AMH

Good morning,
I’m 37 years of age and have recently been told by my fertility doctor that my AMH is 1.7 (apparently this is a severely diminished ovarian reserve). My FSH is borderline at 12.1 and my partner’s semen analysis is normal but a slightly decreased motility at 22%. Has anyone got a similar situation and conceived naturally? They also told me that IVF may only have a success rate of 5%.
I should say I have a child already which I feel very lucky to have but I’m heart broken not to give my child a sibling. An story that would give me hope would be much appreciated…however any story that can bring me terms of what may be reality would be appreciated too as I need to sort myself out! Many thanks in advance xx

Hi,
I've just come across your post and wondering how you got on. I've just been told I have a low egg count too.
Thanks and wishing you all the best x

@NHBRMT @Pippin34 following along as I have an AMH test on Saturday after nearly a year of trying. X

Amh is more helpful for the fertility clinic than it necessarily is for you as it tells them what meds to put you on so don't worry. I had low Amh at 1.9 and conceived two years later, yes through Ivf but there was an unrelated issue not to do linked to AMH that made the difference in the end. Have a gorgeous healthy six month old lying on me now. Good luck

Thank you for this. It’s very helpful to hear a positive story! X

Apologies for only seeing this now…I’m new to these forums.
Still not pregnant but I went to another fertility clinic and they told me to try clomid at 50mg. I have been doing this for 3 months and I had follicles each time but didn’t fall pregnant. The last round of clomid I did…there were no follicles so I was told not to bother testing LH surge and they prescribed me 100mg for when I started my next period. My period is now 8 days late and I’m on day 35. My cycle is usually 26/27 days. So I’m confused as apparently there were no follicles?? I’m scared to do a pregnancy test as I don’t think I deal deal with a negative at the moment. But possibly it’s the clomid playing havoc and extending my cycle?? I know I should contact the fertility clinic but it was such a negative experience the last time I don’t know if I can do that again. I will keep you updated tho! Good luck to you and your journey xx

If there were no follicles then you wouldn’t have ovulated which would explain the longer cycle. Anovulatory cycles are longer than ovulating cycles.

NHBRMT · 09/03/2022 09:18

@Machina01 interesting thank you! Do I just continue to wait for my next period or should I do something else? Many thanks!

I think you just have to wait it out I’m afraid. You could touch base with the clinic to update them and see if they suggest anything other than waiting.

NHBRMT · 09/03/2022 09:56

@Machina01 yes I think you are right…I just need to bite the bullet and contact them. I will give it until Friday and then contact them. Hoping for a wee miracle though! Thanks for giving me kick up the backside!
