Soreness and itching when trying to conceive

Hi all, I could really do with some help/ advise as I'm feeling really tearful and down. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for months following a miscarriage. This month we didn't use pre seed as my husband really finds it hard to 'do the deed' with it. So we just used saliva. I'm now really worried that it's effected me as I'm quite sore and itchy down below. My discharge is the same and it doesn't sting when I wee. Do you think its just the friction or have I given myself an infection? :(

Saliva isnt a suitable lubricant. It dries up quickly, meaning you will get rubbed, which might be sore. Also, if your partner was eating etc before this could act as an irritant. Even if he just did his teeth - toothpaste is alkaline so might irritate a vagina. Theoretically, it may give you thrush but also might just be rubbed?

It also sounds like your natural lubrication isnt enough if you usually use preseed? I hope he's being generous with the foreplay!

@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you for your reply. I'm hoping its just the rubbing / friction aswell, but I've never had thrush before so I have no idea what I'm looking for. I think if it doesn't go away in a few days I'll call the GP. The soreness is more on the outside, whereas the itchiness is on the inside. I'll be staying well away from the saliva from now on!
