Immediate result on test

Hi all, I’m hoping someone can help, as I feel totally out of my depth. Did a FR test this morning, and as I peed on it, the positive cross appeared. Instructions say to wait 3 mins before seeing anything - does this mean it was a faulty test? Or I’m very strongly pregnant?

Presumably I need to test again? Walking around in a daze, as this wasn’t planned! Clearly wasn’t avoided well enough, but we’ve always just used an app for guidance about fertility days etc. We’ve always said we were open to having a baby, but after 2 years, we assumed it wasn’t happening….

If you HCG Is strong then yes you can have a quick positive.

I presume you mean it appeared instantly and remained rather than appeared briefly before settling on negative?
Of course if it’s positive then you’re pregnant and you don’t need another test.

It means you’re very definitely pregnant and your hormone levels are high enough to pick up straight away. The 3 minutes is to read a result within that time frame and not after. Any positive within that 3 minutes is a real positive. All my positive pregnancy tests came up straight away too. DH wouldn’t believe it until the time had passed though, in case the dye jumped off the test line It’s quite a shock after seeing nothing for a while!

You’re definitely pregnant - have you missed your period? If it’s come up quickly it’s likely you’re at least 14 DPO

@Clarkey86 yes, period is 8 days late. So I think that’s about 5 weeks pregnant according to google. I was shocked that it showed up so quickly. Wasn’t TTC, but have been thinking about TTC and following all the threads (I’m a natural worrier, so assumed I’d be in the same boat if TTC for a year or more!) turns out I was wrong!

All mine were very quick, as it soaked through it instantly was there
