Is this a second chemical pregnancy?

Hi everyone…this is my first ever post on Mumsnet and I’m hoping you can help.

Myself (28) and my partner (30) are both healthy and have been trying for a baby. We got pregnant on our second cycle but unfortunately this ended in a chemical pregnancy at 4weeks+3. That morning, I woke up and all the symptoms were gone, and that I got bad cramps in the pm and bleeding.

This is our third cycle and I found out on Sunday that I am pregnant. I had a lot of bloating, frequent urination, gas and very sore boobs.

Today I am 4+6, however 2 days ago I woke up and the majority of my symptoms disappeared, just like the day that I had my 1st chemical pregnancy. My boobs are now far less tender (only sore when I squeeze) I no longer need to urinate frequently and my bloating is gone. I am also (every now and then) getting lower back pain (still no bleeding as I type this) so shooting pains in my outer thighs and hip and I have kept doing tests and they are still coming up stronger than the control line. I understand though that these test might not mean anything.

My bloods were checked last time and no issues were found with thyroid/diabetes/blood sugars. I have rang the doctor and she wouldnt check my hcg as it is against the guidance which I totally understand. The doctor said to just wait and see for blood and that it could be a miscarriage or it could be nothing.

I guess I’m just hoping that anyone out there has had disappearing/dramatic lessening of symptoms and still been okay? I dont want to be dramatic and I know its early days but I just feel like I’m not strong enough for this or to face a reality that we wont be able to have kids… I don't have anyone to talk to about this.

Hey sorry for your previous loss. I have had 2 chemicals and 2 MMC.

With my chemicals, the tests got stronger but then got fainter within a week, then they went straight back to one line when the bleeding started. So the only advice I can offer is keep testing every couple days if you are worried.
Maybe book a reassurance scan for 6/7 weeks, if your GP won’t refer you to EPU?
Good luck xx

Hi!

Thank you so much for replying and I am really sorry for your losses.

Do you mind if I ask with your CPs, did you wake up one day and just have no symptoms? And was it a week from then or a week from finding out your pregnant. Sorry, I'm just trying to see how long I should wait.

We have booked a private scan for the 6 weeks mark but I'm really not holding out much hope to reach that point.

To be honest I hadn’t really started getting symptoms yet. My first chemical I was approaching 6 weeks, the second one was confirmed when I was exactly 6 weeks. My symptoms seem to start around 6w 3days.

So from memory I think my strongest test was around 16dpo and then faded on 19dpo xx

I honestly wouldn't base it on symptoms. If you have line progression and no bleeding or spotting then that's good. Also around 6 weeks I had a lot of cramping but all worked out fine.
