Feeling let down by my body TTC 😔

Long post ahead...and with TMI... apologies to anyone who reads!

Hubby and I have been ttc actively for about a year now.
I had a very regular 28 day cycle.
I would have brown spotting for a day and then a period for around 4 days with one very heavy and clotty day.

In March I was late. Of course we got very excited and I know it was stupid but I'm NEVER late and I had symptoms - my boobs were obviously larger and so sore, I had had nausea a couple of days, I had a different discharge...

However the day I was going to test I woke up went to the toilet and there was my period 😑
Then in April I had a full week of brown spotting prior to my period which decided it would come a couple of days early and it was heavier! I had an accident because I couldn't contain and had to wash the kitchen floor midway through making breakfast! 😔
So much brown spotting alarmed me.
In May I had a weeks worth of brown spotting again before my period. Again after the spotting I had my period and again it was heavier and more clots.

I phoned the GP as I was concerned about all the brown spotting, plus the heavier bleeding as well as the failure of conceiving so far because we are getting older now (I'm 40 this year)
The nurse asked about my Mam's menopause as she said early menopause was hereditary and I was surprised to find out she went through the menopause at 43/44 😬 so she called me in for bloods.
They tested my b vitamins, folate, thyroid, kidneys and hormones.
Everything came back as normal 🤷‍♀️ so I queried what was next and was surprised to hear that they aren't concerned and suggested it could just be "a blip in my cycle" They said just to monitor it and call back if I get any pain or bleeding during sex 🤷‍♀️

June's period came 4 days early but only had 1 day of brown spotting beforehand, though was heavier...and two accidents because I failed to contain 😔

This month I am due on Sunday....I was really sick on Tuesday and vomiting on the night and still feeling sickly yesterday so I tested and it was negative...I knew it would be but we had a friend visiting so wanted to check so I could have a drink if I fancied.
Then last night I went to the toilet and there was quite a lot of pink blood so I assumed my period was coming...but I've had no brown discharge this month 🤷‍♀️
I quite literally have no idea what my body is doing anymore!!! 😔

So...there's no point to this post rather than to vent 🤷‍♀️

@IndigoNC I believe you replied to the initial post but I had to delete and repost (original post gave away my ID) and missed your reply 🙈 sorry

Oh well thought my period started while I was out this afternoon but got home to find the brown discharge so I know my period is going to be here somewhere between today and Sunday.

We have one month left before we give up.

Looks like it wasn't meant to be.

Can I ask why you are stopping in a month? I know it's so hard (trying since March 2020) and really feel for you @Want2bMumof3

Looking at your username, I'm wondering if it might be cause you already have 2 wee ones?

Want2bMumof3 · 30/07/2021 06:09

@TheDaydreamBelievers due to our age.
We do already have 2. But I think we are getting too old now. Probably why I'm having these issues in the first place.

I know I should be grateful for the fact we already have two but I can't help feel sad.

Sorry to hear you have also been trying so long. I hope it happens soon for you 💖

Unfortunately it does sound possible that you are premenopausal. However, that doesnt mean non fertile. You could always just not use contraception and see what happens for another year or so?
