In previous months I used the pink test kit, this month I changed to the purple advanced kit.
I’ve had 2 days of flashing smileys and today I got a static smiley, but the test looks like this inside is this normal? Any help will be appreciated!

This looks fine to me. The digitals are not designed to be read on the stick.

That's normal. None of mine ever seemed to be consistent in shade but they were always spot on with ovulation.

Thank you so much that’s great help. The pink ones always had two clear lines on it so I didn’t know if this was faulty Thankyou!

Dear all, I am curious to know if the CD at which you got the purple CB's static smiley is in line with your previous months' peaks?

Indeed I have the same concern about CB purple test... After using CB purple kit for 2 cycles and having always only a faint test line at static smiley peaks, this month after having the static smiley (around CD12 - which is a bit early for my long cycle) I've decided to buy another CB purple kit and restarted the tesing: at CD21 I got again another peak, this time the test line is much darker than the control line.
Plus, after some internet browsing, I've found this article www.bbc.com/news/technology-54025997.amp. The article says that some ovu tests are simply using their electronic components to read the test line's intensity - what we can usually do with bare eyes for an ovulation test (I guess?)...

Corrections: the bbc article was talking about pregnancy test, but I assume maybe similar tricks can be used for ovu tests.

I started testing on CD6 as my cycles have been messed up due to a recent miscarriage. I got flashing smiley on CD 8&9 and got static smiley on CD10. This is the first month since I conceived last in which I have started using OPK again, but in previous cycles where I have used OPK I didn’t get my static smiley until CD14 🤔 I am temp tracking this month too so we will see…

@HJB97 Sorry for your miscarriage... I hope you'll get a sticky bean soon!!
Yes it's good idea not to rely only on CB ovu tests. I have never temp tracked yet (still a bit newbie in this), but will probably try it for next cycles.
