Hi everyone,
I need some advice if anyone can offer some or has been in a similar position. I'm 'roughly' 7dpo, I did a one step pregnancy test this morning using FMU and got the results on the picture attached. I have done another this evening (after around a 4 hour hold) and it was negative. Do you think the below is an evap or could my urine tonight be diluted even after a long hold?
I hope you can help!

Have you searched one step in previous threads? There are loads!!! Many have echoed my own experience. When I actually was pregnant, they took ages to get a line. I also have false positives and there was an entire batch which were duds!

7dpo is incredibly early for a result. I always recommended using a branded FRER to double check. Best of luck.

Thanks for getting back to me Eleoura; yeah I've had a browse back to see what people are saying - ive also had a few questionable lines on these but this one seems clearer than others. Totally agree though, it really is early for BFP - wishful thinking almost! 🙈
If you don't mind me asking, did any of your false positives look like this? x

Yes, my false positives looked like that. 1 even looked darker!

In saying that, I did have positive ones faint like that when I was actually pregnant. I'd had IVF, knew my exact dates and used FMU. I did several tests over many days. I even did one the day I went for a scan at 7 weeks. There was a heartbeat, yet the FMU urine still took ages to come up, and was also faint. They never got as dark as the control line- even when several weeks pregnant!

One step are supposed to check hcg down to 10iu/ml- same as a regular FRER. I'm dubious though, because I always found them slow and faint. Cheap to buy, but always best to double check with another brand.

Thanks Eleoura, I've done another One Step tonight and it looks like a BFN so this morning must have been a bad evap 😞 so cruel 👎🏼

I will test in a few days with a Frer.

Thanks again, I really appreciate you taking some time out to reply xx

I did alot of reading up about one step after I had odd results! They are cheap, and great if like me you do serial tests and are ok with the results. best of luck though, and let me know how you get on a few days. Fingers crossed x

Well I've done another one step with FMU and it is stark white negative. So annoyed and frustrated, how do these companies get away with selling products that are so sub-standard?!

Sorry to hear that, but it is still very early days.

In one of my posts about the dud one steps, I actually name the batch number and expiry dates. I vaguely think they expired in Dec 2020, so unlikely you are using those, but I'll try looking back at my old posts.

Thank you Eleoura xx

@ChattyMum86- just checking how you are getting on? Have you used a FRER yet?

ChattyMum86 · 02/08/2021 09:27

Hi Eleoura, thanks for messaging, I tested with a frer the day after our last message and it was negative 😢 I haven't tested since then, although no period yet and I'm on cycle day 29. I don't feel pregnant 👎🏼
I hope you're well xx

Sorry to hear that OP, although if AF hasn't started, you aren't as yet. Best of luck x
