Hi everyone,

I'm 28 and have been trying to conceive since December. Had a miscarriage in February at 7 weeks and my cycles have been completely messed up ever since 😖 been with fiancé 10 years and we're so ready to start our family.

I managed to speak with the doctor today with regards to my periods since my miscarriage and she has now referred me for a scan which is something. If that's all fine I'll push for blood tests.

Hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

LemonDrizzle44 · 30/07/2021 18:20

@SlothMamaToBe sorry AF arrived. It must make ttc so much harder when your a midwife? No signs of her yet. Having some cramps but have had those since Monday. I have no idea what's going on!

Reintroductions are a great idea @Unicornish.
I'm 32 TTC #1. Currently on cycle 13 and not even a hint of a bfp!

Belle34 · 30/07/2021 20:59

Hey Ladies,

I am 34, TTC #1, I suffer from PCOS. I had MMC in Jan 2020 around 8/9 weeks. We weren't really seriously trying after that. Didn't had a clue about BBT or OPKs, I only got a hang of it this year. We then decided to actively TTC since the beginning of this year and to our surprise got pregnant straight way which ended in a chemical at 5 weeks unfortunately...💔

We contacted fertility clinic to run all sorts of investigations.. DH was particularly stressed out with work during this time. I was prescribed to take metformin, myo inositol and baby aspirin which helped greatly and made cycles quite regular 28-30 days..Although my BMI was always normal metformin helped reduce another 5 kgs and I fell pregnant quite soon in April which also ended in a chemical at 4 weeks 💔. In the meantime DH's SA results came back which weren't good so my PCOS combined with bad quality of his SA could be the reason for our losses...

We were advised to repeat SA in Aug, if they come back bad then we would be deciding to pursue IVF, don't really want to go this route but it maybe our only hope

So yea that's my story ...suffered 3 losses 😭 all quite early on ...Hope we all don't have to wait too long for our rainbow baby..🌈

polkadotpixie · 31/07/2021 06:33

@ContadoraExplorer No problem, just glad I found you all again 😊

Sorry to everyone who has had BFNs or an unwelcome visit from the red witch 🧙‍♀️

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter My sister is ridiculously fertile too, years on the pill and conceived both of her children within 2 weeks of coming off it. She's not very gracious about how lucky she is either tbh and it's a bit hard to swallow sometimes. She can be a bit thoughtless in what she says and it cuts me deep because she knows full well I struggle to conceive

I'm currently on CD14, got a flashing smiley yesterday and OPKs are just about positive. DTD on CD11 and CD13...we were going to make more effort this cycle but I've been really ill, I thought COVID as I have had sore throat, fever and horrible barking cough but test says not so must be some other nasty respiratory 🦠 floating around

Just a reintroduction, I'm 37 and this is our 4th cycle TTC #2. We have an almost 3 year old DS who took 12 cycles to conceive. I have severe Endometriosis, a short luteal phase and low AMH, DH is fine

I tracked my BBT when TTC DS and found it really helpful so here we are again. Expecting to be in it for the long haul given we struggled first time round and I'm 4 years older now. I'm drinking rancid grapefruit juice to promote EWCM and taking a prenatal plus iron and vitamin D as I'm deficient anyway, Ubiquinol for egg health and vitamins C and B6 to try and lengthen my luteal phase, it's gone from 8/9 days to 10 the last 2 cycles since I started it so hopefully it's helping 🤞

If no luck this cycle, I'm going to try soy isoflavones again next cycle as DS is a Soy baby and I think it did help my ovulation

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 31/07/2021 10:41

I'm so sorry for your losses @Belle34 💔 I hope you get your rainbow baby soon! 🌈 my sister has PCOS and she had IVF and has too beautiful daughters. She did also have a son in between the two girls but sadly had a late miscarriage but she now has a gorgeous family ❤️ I'm also here because of IVF too! 😁 my mum had treatment for me and my twin so IVF can help to get you to your dreams but I know it can be difficult to realise that you need help with having a baby. Sending you lots of love 💕

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 31/07/2021 10:48

@polkadotpixie I also have low AMH too and I've been taking co-q10 to help with egg quality. No idea if it will make a difference though 🤷🏻‍♀️

I might try grapefruit juice this cycle if I can stomach it! I've also been drinking pomegranate juice to help with my lining. What does soy insoflavones help with? Where do you get them from? I'm willing to try anything 😂

MrsTwentyNine · 31/07/2021 11:20

Sorry to post yet another chart after months
I had a miscarriage at 6+5 few weeks ago and I just wanted to give up on it all

I was curious about my temps (using Ava) so here is what it looks like...I'm guessing this is an anovulatory cycle because it makes no sense to me. Any of you ladies who are far more experienced in this temping speciality able to shed some light ? I pray none of you has had to go through a m/c and won't ever have to so I do apologise for posting a chart with the start of my m/c bleed Sad

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 31/07/2021 17:10

@MrsTwentyNine I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Sending you lots of strength ❤️

Unfortunately I don't know what my temps looked like after my miscarriage as I didn't start temping until around 4 cycles after.

Have you been using OPKs or the ClearBlue one with flashing smiley?

Belle34 · 31/07/2021 18:53

Thanks 🙏 @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter. So ur a miracle IVF baby, ur mum must have been so happy to have you ❤️

TTC really is a long struggle and on top of that can't really talk about it much in real life. Just gotta have faith and keep going as right now where I am in my journey it's hard to have both🙁. But hopefully not too long in the distant future I may think otherwise 🤞

Raspberry leaf tea ☕️ apparently is very good in the first half of the cycle for strong lining

@MrsTwentyNine sorry to hear about ur loss...I hope u r feeling ok 🤗

Looking at BBT, it seems to me u may have ovulated cd 26, if the temps keep rising after that?Would be good to keep dtd and taking BBT just in case... i had a delayed ovulation when I suffered a chemical back in Feb/Mar. Here's my chart if it helps..

MrsTwentyNine · 31/07/2021 20:00

@Belle34 and @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter thank you for your replies ❤️

I think CD26 too! I'll just keep watching what the temps do I guess. My RHR and other factors Ava measures doesn't quite match up but let's see.

I haven't bothered with OPKs, I had one stick left of the normal digital CB and it was positive on CD24 which sort of corresponds with the temps!

polkadotpixie · 31/07/2021 20:40

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter Soy Isoflavones are supposed to work like a mild 'natural' Clomid. I'm not exactly sure how they work, something to do with Estrogen maybe? You take them the same days as you would Clomid so CD2-6 or CD3-7 although I think some people do CD4-8 or CD5-9. I do find they push my ovulation back by 2-3 days but I got pregnant on the 3rd cycle I tried them (although it was also my HSG cycle which could be what did it, I'll never know I guess!). There's an ongoing Soy thread somewhere in Conception that I might jump onto if I do go ahead with it next cycle, just need to refresh my knowledge a bit. You can get them at Tesco btw, they are the right dose and really cheap compared to Holland & Barratt

@MrsTwentyNine I'm a fairly experienced temper but Ava completely confuses me...whenever someone posts an Ava chart the temps seem to be really erratic and very low. I've never used it myself though so I'm sure someone that has would know more!

I got my solid smiley this morning and Easy@Home OPKs are positive too. Im definitely having ovulation cramps so we're going to DTD again tonight. I think the vile grapefruit juice has helped as I seem to have a bit more EWCM but tbh, I really struggle to see what's EWCM, what's excess Conceive Plus and what's leftover semen (sorry for the TMI! 🙈) so I don't rely on my CM too much for tracking

Has anyone tried Softcups to help keep the sperm close to the cervix? I've got some but I'm not sure I can get it in cause it looks MASSIVE! And, if I do get it in, what if I can't get it out?!

LemonDrizzle44 · 01/08/2021 11:54

AF has just arrived! Don't feel too down about it like I thought I would. DP and I had a good chat last night about our TTC journey and discussed our options if his SA doesn't come back with good news. DP had previously said something about IVF that had been playing on my mind and we are now on the same page. I had a bit of a shopping spree yesterday and starting zinc, co-Q10 and Myoinositol today. Hoping to improve my egg quality, balance my hormones and regulate my cycles! I'm also increasing my soy intake to see if I can naturally reduce my testosterone levels by diet 🤷🏻‍♀️ no idea if it will work but want to try something while waiting for my gynae appointment.

Belle34 · 03/08/2021 10:13

@LemonDrizzle44 sorry that AF arrived for you. Great that you are moving forward with ur investigations, hope u get all the answers u r looking for👍

@MrsTwentyNine how are ur temps looking? Has ovulation been confirmed?

8 dpo and no symptoms at all today, stopped charting and feel so relaxed. Have my second vaccine dose tomorrow, think this cycle is a dud anyway so I may as well get the vaccine 😅

How is everyone else doing?

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 03/08/2021 10:24

@Belle34 I'm getting my second dose of vaccine on Saturday. I'd rather get it out the way so I don't need to worry about it anymore.

I've also managed to get a pelvic scan on Saturday morning too to check everything is looking ok internally as my period are still watery and not how they used to be. I hope everything will be ok 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

ContadoraExplorer · 03/08/2021 10:58

@belle34 I got the vaccine at the start of June, right around my fertile week. I know it impacts some people negatively by extending cycles etc. but it was fine for me. Second dose due next week and I'm taking it.

OP posts:
acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 03/08/2021 11:12

@ContadoraExplorer my first vaccine didn't seem to impact me or my cycles either so I'm hoping it's the same for the second one! x

Belle34 · 03/08/2021 11:42

@ContadoraExplorer, @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter that's good to know ladies, there's a lot of misinformation out there surrounding vaccination and fertility.

Here's hoping that there will be no major side effects and as u say good to get over with to enjoy some sort of normalcy whatever that is at this stage 😂

MrsTwentyNine · 03/08/2021 12:57

Hi @Belle34 @polkadotpixie

It's looking like this now! It's first cycle after m/c bleed so I don't know why I got my hopes up...and tbh I should have kept DTD-ing according to this so nevermind ...

I'll wait for a normal AF then go back to trying then!

I just did my first month tracking BBT but I'm useless at reading what it actually means! Any thoughts? It looks like I'm potentially ovulating later than I thought I was!

Hi ladies just checking in at 7dpo here. Nothing to report and another 9 days of waiting ahead. Hope everyone holding up ok.

I’m 34, TTC #1, cycle 8 and no hint of a BFP for us yet.

beth1311 · 04/08/2021 10:42

Hi ladies, is it ok if I join this thread? I'm new to BBT and it's a minefield!

Also, @ContadoraExplorer is that true that the vaccine can increase cycle length?
My cycles are normally 31/32 days long, although last months was 26 days and now I'm on CD36, with no signs of AF!

I had 'high' results on ovulation a strips on CD31, and peak on CD33/34.

My temp has gradually increased, I'm now at 36.8 but negative pregnancy tests. Am I testing too soon?
I was meant to ovulate CD18 (according to apps and tracking) but I had a

Belle34 · 04/08/2021 14:18

@MrsTwentyNine looks like u've ovulated on cd 26, u may still be in with a chance as u've dtd during ur fertile window.. we really never know, all it takes is one good swimmer to reach the destination 🤞

@BritInNZ do you temp the same time everyday? From your charts it seems like your body tried to ovulate on cd 15 but given ur temps didn't rise straight after for 3 days I would say cd 19/20 when u've actually ovulated? It's really in retrospect we could see which is a pain..

@Hopefulhedgehog you r same as me so TTC#1, 🤞for you for this month.

@beth1311 welcome! What cd did you take the vaccine? I did during my fertile window, not sure if it was the vaccine/stress my cycle was all messed up this month.. with mid cycle spotting and I eventually ovulated on cd 22, currently 9 dpo and I went ahead and had second vaccine dose today 😁 don't really feel this is my month so hoping AF doesn't get delayed 🤞

polkadotpixie · 05/08/2021 06:45

@MrsTwentyNine I wonder if you actually ovulated a couple of days earlier but your high temps pre-ovulation because of your MC are throwing FF off a bit? Either way, you still DTD during your fertile window so don't write yourself off 😊

@BritInNZ It's hard to tell exactly when you ovulated with the missing temps but I'm not sure why FF hasn't given you crosshairs, it definitely doesn't look annovulatory...I'd guess around CD19/20?

I'm 4dpo at the moment, lots more creamy CM than normal as I usually dry up after ovulation and my boobs don't hurt as much as usual so not sure if my progesterone is lower? FF has put my coverline really high this cycle (it's normally around 36.35)...which looks right to you guys, Advanced setting or my override?

Yep I missed one because I was super hungover and the other I deleted because it was 37.88 - a massive fever from getting sick! Looks like I ovulated much later than expected and my period is also late so that explains why (got a BFN though!). Looking forward to temping next month and seeing if my sickness is what threw my cycle off 😊
