Well AF arrived this morning so we are onto cycle #10. I broached going to the GP with DH and he thinks we should try for a few more months before getting worried. I just think we should go now and get the ball rolling especially after reading about delays and months of waiting on here. I know you aren’t strictly supposed to go until 12 months but I just worry if we end up needing IVF or treatment that we’ll wish we started all of this process sooner.

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 08/09/2021 15:11

@Hopefulhedgehog I've been trying to get my doc to refer us for investigations but she said continue until trying for 1 year then call her back.

She did mention on the phone something about their policy for referral is 2 years!!!!! I hope it doesn't get to that!

Have you told your doc when you started trying? Or could you tell a little fib?

Unfortunately my doc knew when we started trying and was in the system as Dec 2020, wish I said it was longer but at the time of the miscarriage I didn't think it would take us this long to fall pregnant again!

Is there anything in particular that makes you think you'll need ivf? Or just because it's taking a while?

My partner is going to speak to his doctor this week though to be referred for semen analysis so we'll see what happens there.

We're currently in the middle of cycle number 7 and I keep seeing all these women with massive pregnant bellies and wondering if their due when I should have been 🥺

TTC is so tough, especially the first day when AF shows up. Hope you're distracting yourself today ❤️

Hopefulhedgehog · 08/09/2021 17:21

Thanks @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter. Feeling a bit better that I have a plan now to go to Gp and DH has agreed we should get the ball rolling. We will add a few months onto how long we have been trying. I’m thinking with the current shortage of blood vials it may be a while until I get any blood tests but hopefully DH could get referred for SA - not sure how long that takes. I’m happy to just keep trying at the moment just nice to know things are moving in the background. We have no particular reason to be worried apart from no BFP in 9 months. I have very regular cycles and am ovulating as far as I know.

Hopefulhedgehog · 08/09/2021 18:10

@SlothMamaToBe did your FRERs come?x

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 08/09/2021 18:32

@Hopefulhedgehog I had a blood test a few weeks ago no problem as far as I was aware I'm in the south east, don't know if that makes a difference 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm anxious too, just so desperate to get pregnant and I think when you decide to have a baby you want it straight away and it's horrible when it doesn't happen month after month!!

Good to hear that your cycles are regular that can be half the battle xx

Hopefulhedgehog · 08/09/2021 19:33

Yes global shortage! Just my luck haha. Had heard about it on the news but my local surgery had posted about it today too

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 08/09/2021 19:41

@Hopefulhedgehog oh no that's annoying! I know you might not be able to but try and go on cd 3 or 4

Belle34 · 10/09/2021 10:53

Hey Ladies, long time since I've been here was away for two weeks and then straight into work.

Cd 32,12 dpo and BFN, waiting for AF to arrive to start the madness again.. DH had his test today, waiting anxiously for test results to see where it would take us

Hope everyone else is doing well 🤗

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 10/09/2021 15:21

Welcome back @Belle34 did you go anywhere nice?

Hope AF doesn't make an appearance and fingers crossed for SA results 🤞🏻

My partner has managed to book in to his doctors to ask to have semen analysis but not until 27th!!

Currently CD 6 over here and nothing to report so far 🤷🏻‍♀️

Belle34 · 10/09/2021 17:25

Thanks @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter . Just chillaxed at home away from work, regular walks and yoga. Also got away with taking DH for a couples massage 😂 was quite relaxing, def recommend it, keeps the pressure off TTC

Don't feel hopeful really, for the previous 2 failed pregnancies my tests were quite positive at 12 dpo.

Glad u r moving forward with investigations, definitely makes u feel u r doing something about it. 🤞SA results are totally normal for both of us!!

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 10/09/2021 17:40

@Belle34 couples massage sounds lovely ☺️ the pressure of TTC can definitely get all too much sometimes!!

It does make you feel like you're being proactive. I feel like I can't do anymore for myself to increase my chances 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I feel like I haven't put as much pressure on myself this month. I haven't really been tracking bbt consistently but now I kind of regret it be cause I do like to look back on my previous charts 😂 no pleasing me! - I want to have my cake and eat it! Want to be less stressed with temping but want to know what's going on haha!!

SlothMamaToBe · 10/09/2021 18:32

Good luck with your DH’s SA results @Belle34 . The massage sounds like a great thing to do!
@Hopefulhedgehog I had a message from my GP about blood tests too, annoying !
@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter Hope you can get somewhere with getting referred soon.
I had my HSG this morning (preg tests before obvs neg) . I was quite nervous after reading horror stories but actually it was fine , no more uncomfortable than a smear really and if the radiologist hasn’t had told me she put the dye in I prob wouldn’t have realised. It honestly lasted about 2 mins! They said tubes look fine and no blockages. I’m having light bleeding now but not too bad. Not allowed to ttc this month due to radiation but next month going to give it a good go!!

Belle34 · 10/09/2021 21:29

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter yea charting is a tricky one. Last cycle I didn't chart post ovulation and this cycle every single day of it I looked back at my previous charts more than 100 times to compare so u can never win here really more info vs no info

🙏@SlothMamaToBe, really praying it's good news this time.
That's great u got HSG over with and everything is all clear. You can put ur feet up and relax 🤞 next month is the month for you!

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 11/09/2021 06:21

@SlothMamaToBe that's good to know your tubes look fine and there are no blockages. fingers crossed for next month 🤞🏻

polkadotpixie · 11/09/2021 08:53

Hi everyone, I'm back after a couple of weeks away after the MC. It happened at 5+3 and I think I got off pretty lightly really as it was just like a heavier than normal period really. My HCG level had dropped back down to 6 after 4 days of bleeding and I just ovulated on CD17 so only slightly later than usual. We didn't actually try this month as I was feeling a bit anxious about it happening again and I have a bit of a UTI anyway so we decided to leave it this cycle, ironically I had the most EWCM I've ever had so hopefully we didn't waste the perfect egg 😩

@WantStickyBean Congratulations! 🎉

@LemonDrizzle44 I'm so sorry to hear your news, hope you and DH are bearing up and that the doctors can help with regards to surgical sperm retrieval or similar if you decide that's the way you want to go

@SlothMamaToBe Great news on the clear HSG and glad you found it pain free, mine was pretty awful but I think I had some slight blockages from my Endo. Its a shame they told you no TTC this cycle, we were told the exact opposite, to give it our best shot that cycle as it temporarily increases your fertility for a few months. I actually got pregnant with DS a few days after mine so it was definitely the case with me

LemonDrizzle44 · 11/09/2021 21:09

Thank you all for your messages! I've gotten over the initial shock and we are doing much better. If anything we feel much closer as a couple and trying to stay positive together.
DP is going for further tests and hopefully can have sperm retrieval and then will be ICSI IVF. This may be funded on NHS depending on what type of "azoospermia" he has. If DP has complete testicular failure (no sperm in testes) then he has said we can try a sperm donor, an idea he was against a little while ago when we had discussed worse case scenario.
It's not how we wanted to have our first baby and will be a long and possibly very expensive journey, but we have options and we are trying to stay positive.

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 12/09/2021 06:29

I'm so sorry for your loss @polkadotpixie I hope you're ok and being kind to yourself ❤️

Glad to hear you're both doing ok @LemonDrizzle44 and that it's bought you closer together. It's a testament to your strong relationship and I hope the further tests for your DP go well. Have they said what the cause of your partner not having any sperm in his testees xx

LemonDrizzle44 · 12/09/2021 08:29

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter thanks. It could be multiple things. He's have bloods to check hormone levels (testosterone could be low and FSH could be high). It could be genetic, there's various syndromes or he could be a carrier of the cystic fibrosis gene which can cause it. It can be congenital where he doesn't have the tube that carriers it out, or that tube could be blocked. So will have scans etc. Hopefully he has sperm somewhere so they can just put a needle in and draw it out for IVF, an idea he's not particularly liking the sound of!

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 12/09/2021 08:34

@LemonDrizzle44 so could be a wide range of things. Hopefully the investigations will pin point the reason and like you say, hopefully they're hiding somewhere!

Must be such an anxious time for you both, sending you a massive virtual hug ❤️

Belle34 · 12/09/2021 17:42

@polkadotpixie sorry to hear about ur MC, i hope u r feeling ok❤️
UTI can be hard going, every time I had it I ended up taking antibiotics. Hope it goes away on its own for you 🤗 & u r back in the game to conceive ur rainbow 🌈 baby

@LemonDrizzle44 sorry about ur DH's diagnosis. I feel for both of u, it is such a tough situation to be in. There's always a solution to these problems if the root cause is known, I hope u find urs soon, sending lots of positive vibes ur way!!!🍀

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 14/09/2021 08:24

How's everyone getting on?

Anyone planning to test soon? I'm CD22 so expecting spotting any day now but I had a massive rise in temp this morning so I'm hoping that's a good sign for me 🤞🏻

Found out last night that my DP sister is pregnant with her 2nd baby.

So we have a sister each that's pregnant and that's pretty tough news for us at the minute xx

Belle34 · 14/09/2021 15:23

That sucks @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter.. big hugs to u 🤗 our time will also come one day, we are the tortoise 🐢 in our journeys but hopefully will get there in the end.

16 dpo today or so I think, last test I took was 4 days ago at 12 dpo which ended being BFN.. Still waiting for AF to arrive, if it doesn't show up by this weekend will take another.. when do u plan on testing?
