if we're ttc, do we have to do it every night? I'm knackered!

We're using Persona (but in the opposite way so we know when is a good time to ttc) and this is the first month we're going for it.

Which is really exciting, but I feel under pressure to get it on every red day. I dunno how many I'm going to get in a row this month, could be as many as 10, so question is, do we really need to do it every day? I don't want it to start feeling like another chore.

It's not the end of the world if it's not instant, but we would rather it was sooner than later...

Every 2nd night is enough apparently!

Mercy · 26/11/2007 21:42

No idea what Persona is but don't put yourself under any pressure.

Que sera, sera. good luck though (which is was it is half the time)

Leslaki · 26/11/2007 21:45

when I was ttc - had ICSI etc etc we were told not to do it every night - bad for sperm quality or something apparently!

lissielewzealand · 26/11/2007 21:46

every other day. his boys need a chance to build up their strength!

bohemianbint · 26/11/2007 21:47

Oh, thank god for that!

Leslaki - DP reckons he read it's better for him to "let them out" regularly to make them better. They really do expect you to believe anything don't they?

Hi, I haven't used Persona but I think the red days aren't all days when you are likely to get pregnant, but include days when it is at all possible you might get pregnant if that makes sense. Sperm lives for 3-5 days and the egg doesn't usually live for more than 24 hours so its not actually that many days. Persona errs on the side of caution for people who don't want to get pregnant.
Have you read 'taking charge of your fertility' by Toni somebody? Very good on tracking your cycle to maximise chances
