First time using OPK

Hope this is the right place.

I came off the pill at the end of March this year. Having been using condoms since then and seeing what my cycle does.

Since then I've had three lots of spotting/very light bleeds. The first was 28 days after my withdrawal bleed. This was just spotting for two days, didn't need to use anything because it was so "nothing. The second was 23 days later which was a bit more, lasted a bit longer and I used 1 tampon for one night. The third was 26 days later and the same as the second. My most recent "period" was 28/29 days later and more of a period but still not as much compared to when I was on the pill.

By this I should be due to ovulate around July 24th. I know this is completely guesswork and everyone's cycles are different etc. I've never had any ovulation symptoms when on the pill. Have had some CM at times in my cycle since coming off but haven't tracked it.

I started trying OPK sticks on cycle day 10 which read 0.27. Since then it has gone down! Actually as low as 0.04. Today it read 0.23.

If I had ovulated early/late would if affect the length of my cycle? I'm new to all this, 31 and TTC #1. I know there's every chance I haven't ovulated yet but also just wondered if anyone has seen numbers this low? Lots of people I see their low is higher than my highest so far Grin

I'm just asking more out of curiosity and others experiences. Thank you in advance to whoever reads this and can offer any advice Smile

Hi, we used OPKs to conceive our first but they didn't have numbers on.

Id used apps like Clue before which give you a 'fertile window', I had v regular 27 day cycles & had been off the pill for approx 2 years. I got some cheapie OPKs off Amazon and used them literally every day of my cycle to see what was going on. Turned out I was ovulating about 5 days after the 'fertile window' that the apps suggested which explained why we didn't get pg after giving up on DTD at the end of the fertile window - we got DD the first month of using OPKs though 🎉

Sorry I can't shed any more light on your numbers or situation re. Coming off the pill so recently but thought I would suggest testing every day for a cycle as it worked for us.

Good luck!

Keep using the opks and if you notice a slight rise in the numbers/darkness then test twice a day. Are you testing mid morning? From what I've read, don't use FMU and maybe test around 10am and not after you've drunk a lot of water.
When I was testing, my opks would just almost suddenly get really dark so there's still time for it to happen in the next few days!

Thank you so much! There is an app which lets you scan them and it gives you a reading which is where I get the numbers.

I've tried different times of day/afternoon. Never done first morning. It's hard trying to not drink to dilute your urine when it's so warm! But I will keep testing daily for sure.

Strangely enough I've actually got clear sticky CM today? So will leave on the OH later anyway Wink but finding it very interesting!

I really appreciate your replies so thank you x
