Conception

Could this be a factor for anyone else?

Thought I would just post an update as it might help someone. TTC dc2 for 21 miserable months and have had one definite mc at 5 weeks and what I suspect are at least a couple of chemical pregnancies. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be much wrong with either me or DH except that DH has had some vague prostate symptoms (getting up in night to pee, urine stream a bit hesitant etc). This has been dismissed every time he has mentioned it and no one examined him - sperm tests were okish, a bit sluggish and some 'debris' but very high count and so pronounced easily good enough. "The egg is old" was all one doc would say on the matter.

Anyway, finally got him physically examined privately and it seems his prostate is inflamed and contains white blood cells (ie pus - yuck). Apparently sperm and pus is not a great combination and may well be preventing either conception or implantation. This info hasn't done the trick for us yet and may not even be the whole story but I thought I would post anyway. The message seems to be: do not accept the constant insinuation that it is entirely a female problem, get some proper sperm tests done and don't ignore symptoms (although in fact prostatitis may be present with no symptoms at all).
