Hi all - first time poster here!
Recently had a chemical pregnancy :-( Just looking for some advice because I somehow feel like I'm wasting the docs time.
BFP on 7.7.21. Started spotting the next day which, by 11.7.21 had turned into full on AF :-( I'm still spotting (heaviness really varies) so;

  • When should we try again? Will I ovulate if I'm still spotting?
  • Should I wait a cycle to try and let things settle down? I'm mid-thirties, he's late thirties! We want to crack on!
  • Is there a chance I'm still pregnant?
-I use an ovulation calculator - do I count the first day of the cycle as the first day I started spotting?

Please try to help a very confused girl out! Thank you

I had a chemical pregnancy recently too, got a BFP on 2/7/21 and then started AF like bleeding on 5/7/21 but still had a positive test, bleeding was like a normal period so I presumed a chemical pregnancy, tested again on the 9/7/21 and it was a BFN. Was a bit gutted, but took it as a kind of good sign that at least I can get pregnant! (am mid 30ies and was month 3 of TTC baby number 1)

We have just cracked on trying again this month (seemingly you are more fertile after a MC), I use OPK and got a peak yesterday on CD15 which is the same as last month, so the CP doesn't seem to have messed my cycle up. I did notice I had spotting at the end of my period which lasted longer than usual, was about 5 or 6 days rather than 2 or 3. Maybe using OPK would help you? I took the first day of bleeding to be CD1 but it was quite heavy, I know if its a period then they say CD1 should be the first day of bleeding rather than just spotting

If you haven't done so I would do another pregnancy test just to make sure its negative if its not then probably want to speak to ur GP in case its an ectopic

Hope that helps!
