Period After Laparoscopy

Hi Everyone,

I recently had a laparoscopy & HSG done and just wondered if people could share their experience on their first cycle post procedure.

I asked my consultant and he said my period should arrive as normal on the expected date, another nurse also said the same however, one of the other nurses said not to expect a period for 4-6 weeks.

My period was due 5 days ago and hasn’t arrived yet. Trying to plan ahead for TTC for next cycle in the hope I’m more fertile but wondering if it my cycles will now be all messed up?

I didn’t bleed after the surgery I had spotting for a day about 4 days after it and that was it. The removed a cyst, adhesions and stage 3 endo from 3 areas.

Anyone who has had this done did your period come on time after?

Thanks!

Hey!
I had a lap done last year, my period was due 2 days after my lap and it arrived on time and lasted the usual amount and wasn't heavier or lighter than normal. I think it was quite painful but that was to be expected.
I then didn't ovulate until CD19 in my next cycle which is really late for me (usually CD12) and so I had a longer cycle the cycle after my surgery but since then my cycles are pretty much the same, probably a little bit longer by a couple of days which I'm fine with as they were getting shorter and shorter!!
Good luck! X
