Hiya mums!
Just wanted to start a thread for the mums who are fighting with their own thoughts whether its time for baby #3 or not yet...
I have 2 boys 4y and 7 months I dont want a big age gap between my 2nd and 3rd and the thought of having another baby gives me butterflies but when I think of pregnancy and labour and everything that comes after I just uggghhh.
My pregnancy wasnt really easy with my 2nd and labour was nearly traumatizing he got stuck heartbeat started dropping had an episiotomy that kept getting infected for 4 months...so my recovery was very slow as well..thinking of how amazing it would be to have a baby girl(obs i dont know if it wud be a girl or boy but) my heart longs for a girl after 2 boys...sooo lets chat!

You know you may have another boy. Of course you could have a girl but there are plenty of three child families around of the same sex.

What does your husband/partner think?

Considering what you went through last time, in your place I wouldn't. However nobody can make your mind up for you.

Good luck whatever you decide Babydancing.

Babydancing2020 · 08/07/2021 18:07

Yeahhh ofcourse I have that in mind as well Id be happy whether its a boy or girl but its just a preference after having 2 boys...my husband is in no rush hes a very down to earth person it really is up to me since Im the one going through everything..

Yeah its a real battle in my head since my last pregnancy and labour.
Anyways what about you?:)

@Maggiesfarm

Congratulations toadstool.
What about you? Are you trying for number #3 I like the name Maggie for a girl!!xx
Yummymummy2020 · 08/07/2021 21:03

I hear you! I am hoping to have three but just had number two a month ago so will have to wait a while yet as my two births were quite traumatic and the healing will take a while. But I also don’t want a big gap between them, just want to lose my baby weight first to be as healthy as possible before the next pregnancy!

Gabby82 · 12/07/2021 18:59

I'm similar to you OP, have an 8 month old and 3.5 year old, both boys. Definitely keen for number 3 but just working out the right time between work, my age and a decent gap between children. I think we'll start trying in 6 months and I'll use those months to start tracking cycles and being extra healthy in preparation. I'm 40 next year so can't really wait any longer than that.

MuslinsRLife · 12/07/2021 19:02

I wanted a girl too but wouldn’t change DS3. Just don’t be disappointed if it’s a boy, definitely don’t have a baby just because you want a girl!
3 children is fantastic so far Grin

Babydancing2020 · 14/07/2021 20:28

@gabby82 that does sound very similar. I hope it will all work out for you maybe we can start our ttc journey together by then!

@muslinsRLife hahahaha no thats not the main reason why i want a 3rd i actually always imagined myself with 4 kids.
How is it having 3 kids is it harder work thn 2? I must say ive only got 2 now but god i feel like i'll never be mentally ready for another one im a stay at home mum and it feels like i cant do anything else apart from watching my 7month old crawling to madness!!

@Babydancing2020 I don’t find it much harder to be honest, but I have a bigger gap this time round which really helps IMO. I have a 3 month old, nearly 4 year old & nearly 6 year old Grin
It helps DS3 is such a happy, chilled baby. Breastfeeding was easy from the get go so less things to think about.
DS2 was a really high needs baby so I think it’s pot luck, if I have another DS2 I’d be knackered!

Michellexxx · 14/07/2021 20:39

I’m also considering this! I have a nearly 2yo and a 5yo- both girls.
My husband is quite on the fence but I’m from a big family. I love my life at the moment, but the thought of never having another baby makes me feel sad!
Equally, the thought of returning to the baby stage brings me out in a cold sweat 😂
I do feel like I’d want to get pregnant in the next year, if I were to do it at all.
Do any of you have siblings who share a room?

Babydancing2020 · 14/07/2021 20:42

@michellexxx welcome to the club hahaha!!! My boys will be sharing a room soon. Even if we had an extra room id still want them to share. I shared a room with my sisters when i was young and I just loved it the little gossip and convos we had at night when mum and dad thinks were sleeping. Sneaking snacks etc hahaha id love that for my boys as well.
