One Positive test amongst negatives.

Hi everyone. So I started testing a few days ago. Me and other half have thought we've been seeing vvvfl. Then after giving up hope that we weren't getting a definitive line, I did my last test to just get it out the way and accepted that we'd been suffering from line eyes.

So I always collect my urine in a cup, took the final first response test and it came back faint positive but definitely a line! I ran out and grabbed more first responses and tested the exact same urine in the cup and no line. Took one next morning and no line again. The only thing I can think is that I left the stick in the urine about 4-5 seconds longer than I shouldve first time around. Could that have given me a false positive? Anyone experienced anything similar?

I've always found FRER to be very reliable but I've read that a lot of people are getting evap lines on them. Dipping it for an extra few seconds wouldn't make any difference.

Did the faint line have colour to it or was it grey?

It looked pink to me and showed up instantly.

Frustrating thing is I don't actually know how many dpo I am. I tracked up to CD29 this month and never seemed to find my peak, ended up giving up because I figured I must've some how missed it. Now I'm on CD41 so I think maybe I just ovulated really late this month? I normally have irregular periods but I'm normally around the 35 day mark so this is a little late for me (although not the latest ive ever been) so basically I've got no dates to work from other than the closest I got to a peak was CD27 and then it dropped again, tested for 2 more days after and levels stayed low so gave up 😩

If I say CD27 was my peak then I am around 13dpo but can't say for definite it didn't happen after I stopped testing.

I should add that I had cramps 2 nights ago, figured I'd be on by morning but they never came to anything. It was the day after I got the positive followed by the negatives

It must be so frustrating for you!

If you are 13dpo then the cramps could have been late implantation,
If you still haven't got your period in 2 days then test again.

If it's negative and AF still hasn't appeared then it's likely that, like you say, you ovulated late and missed it. Doesn't explain the faint positive though 🤔

It's horrible not knowing but sometimes there's nothing else to do but wait 😖 x

I havent got high hopes at all, I just wish AF would come now and put me out of my misery. Its so emotionally and financially draining doing all these tests but I cant help myself! I'm going to just wait it out. Thank you for replying xx
