I have two DC and am very very lucky to have them. Trying for DC3. AT a scan for something else they have told me that I have polycystic ovaries. Got to wait for bloods to confirm but they were confident that’s what I have.
I feel strange. Can you get PCOS? I have two DC and didn’t have it then.
Is there any home of conceiving now?

Hey,

PCOS is a hormone imbalance and you can be diagnosed with it at anytime. I was 19 when I was diagnosed. I'm now 36, have 1 DS and am currently pregnant with DC2 so it's definitely possible to conceive.

I conceived naturally but there is medication that can help if fertility is a problem (it isn't always).

Saying that, PCO and PCOS are slightly different. Either way, fertility isn't always effected x

I've had PCOS since my early teens. Conceived naturally at 37. There is always hope. Flowers

You can have polycystic ovaries but not have polycystic ovary syndrome. I have PCO but haven’t had any trouble conceiving. Also, they used to diagnose anyone with PCO as having PCOS ten years ago (again, personal experience) but they wouldn’t give me the same diagnosis now. PCO just means you have extra follicles (that’s where the word polycystic comes from), if your cycle is regular this isn’t anything to worry about. At my last scan my antral follicle count was just shy of 40 (4 times “normal”).

Oh, fun fact: having PCO often runs in families and can increase your chances of twins Smile

I’ve got PCOS quite badly apparently- the dr said my ovaries looked bad. But I’ve managed to somehow have 3 kids without any form or treatment . The only thing I did was use a fertility monitor (which isn’t supposed to work for pcos but did for me) and eat lower carb. Good luck!

Hey OP,

I have PCOS and been trying to conceive my first for a while. Not giving up hope as there’s loads of stories of people with PCOS conceiving …it’s just a bit harder.

The main challenge with PCOS and conception is regular ovulation xx

Mum233 · 07/07/2021 21:20

Apparently I have “multiple immature follicles” (day 15 of cycle). So confused and GP won’t see me for four weeks Confused

I have PCOS and I conceived DD1 without knowing I had it, it was diagnosed at 12 week scan and then confirmed after pregnancy with a further scan. Unfortunately as with lots of medical issues some people are more affected than others. Hopefully as you have managed to conceive before you will manage to get your baby 🙂
