Anyone else late and getting bfn? I had sex on cd35 as thought it would help bring on AF (as I'm convinced I'm not pregnant) and I had a little bit of brown spotting after so thought it was AF but I've had nothing since then, no red blood and no flow. I've been having slight cramps since the day my AF is normally due (CD29) but no other symptoms really, maybe a bit of nausea and bloating but that's it. I took a pregnancy test on Saturday morning and it was BFN. Anyone else experienced/experiencing this or any idea why my period would be this late?

My cycles vary from 24-36 days, getting less predictable as I get older.

Jessica1072 · 05/07/2021 12:08

Yeah I'm probably just worrying for no reason, I'm normally on time and age 27 but yeah maybe it's just my body changing 😅 Hopefully AF turns up tonight or tomorrow

Hey OP! Same boat as me but I'm 3 days late. I've felt nausea like never before!! Really nauseous, dizzy and some light cramping but not period like. Strange as I'm also getting BFN's

Jessica1072 · 05/07/2021 12:21

@wovenn I'm glad I'm not the only one!! No idea what's going on with me this cycle. Yeah same very light cramps but nothing like the usual ones I get and BFN. I'm hoping its nothing serious! Keep me updated with how you get on

Have you had a covid jab this cycle? Lots of women getting delayed periods after their jab. Mine was almost a week late after Pfizer.

Ooh that's interesting, I had my second vaccine back in April though as I'm NHS, but maybe it could still be related to the vaccine?

Hmmm maybe but you’d expect that if it didn’t affect your cycle at the time then it would seem strange to affect it now! I think I’ve had a few chemical pregnancies in the past that haven’t shown up as positive tests but my period has been late then quite heavy and clotty and my gut feeling has been that it was a chemical pregnancy. I hope it turns up soon for you (or a positive test!)

Jessica1072 · 05/07/2021 13:16

Yeah strange it's been fine since I had my vaccine in April, just this month has been different. I'll maybe get some more tests and double check but I assume a bfp would of showed up when I tested on Saturday if I was pregnant

I had this same thing last month! I've always had really consistent cycles and was 5 days late, with like a tiny spotting on one day. We're TTC so was hoping for BFP but alas, day 6 AF showed up! Back to regular cycle this month! I'd had my vaccine a few weeks before and I've heard rumours (not sure how true) that it has affected some women's cycles - have you had yours?

cherrytreecottage · 05/07/2021 13:20

Sorry, just seen the above posts! Could be the vaccine?!

Jessica1072 · 05/07/2021 13:41

Ooh ok maybe it's just gonna be late this month, hate the waiting around haha. Yeah I just was reading online about how loads of women have had their cycles messed up from the vaccine so maybe it is that?
