It’s so hard when all signs seem good, isn't it MrsF111? Really feeling for you at the moment.

Sorry you’re having to deal with more announcements PeanuttyButter and kiwi17. That proverbial kick in the guts is so painful when you are on this journey. Try not to push too much pressure on yourself around the wedding PeanuttyButter. Things can always be moved or amended. I would just aim for everything and hopefully it will all work.

Miscarriage39 · 30/07/2021 09:27

So, seven weeks after my blood test was ordered I have finally spoken to the doctor and……..the blood test was taken at the wrong point in my cycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the fourth locus to speak to me since my first miscarriage in March, and she has now advise I have day 3 and 21 bloods taken. That would be marvellous, but she has pointed out they cannot be done in my next cycle, and I’ll need to precook the blood tests by 3 weeks (ironically, the blood tests taken before were to look at irregular periods since my first miscarriage!). She has basically advised that after my next period I book an appointment four weeks later, then every week for the following six weeks. She thinks that as long as they get one done before I ovulate it’ll be fine. And that’s the best they can offer!). She also refused a referral to the recurrent miscarriage team, as although NICE guidelines suggest referral after 2 at 39, the local trust doesn’t my work to that. My husband sat in on the call and was really angry, but she just told us that there were lots of people in our position and that she doesn’t my know of anywhere in the country able to offer the bloods or referral as advised 😡😡😡😡😡😡

kiwi17 · 30/07/2021 12:26

@Miscarriage39 that's so rubbish and I'm so angry for you - what shocking treatment. And to sit there and say oh there are other worse off than you or in the same position is so unnecessary. I felt a bit the same when my gp said 'oh and you won't get any ivf on the nhs because you already have a child' which is fine and I don't think we would anyway but still minimises your own suffering and feelings. Can you put in a complaint higher up? If it's nice guidelines why aren't they following them?!

Miscarriage39 · 30/07/2021 12:36

kiwi17 I am so sorry that was said so nonchalantly to you! I have to say, I find NHS policies on IVF very strange and very unfair. I am sure, though, that you will get your rainbow baby.
On the NICE guidelines, apparently they are only guidelines for best practice and don’t need to be followed. She did point out, though, that the waiting list is currently around a year anyway, so not likely to be overly helpful.

kiwi17 · 30/07/2021 12:39

@Miscarriage39 if they are guidance for best practice surely they should be aiming for best practise?! Ridiculous and I'm so annoyed for you. I know it just seems like a postcode lottery as to what you get and how you are treated which is really unfair! And that's a really long waiting list too... arghh. I know we have to be positive and keep hoping for our rainbows 🤞

MrsF111 · 31/07/2021 10:23

Still a bfn this morning, think I’m going to have to assume the 4 days of spotting I had last week was actually a very light period. So on the plus side I had a 28 day cycle for the first time ever! But on the negative side it started 7 days after my positive opk and ovulation pains 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

kiwi17 · 31/07/2021 14:15

How frustrating @MrsF111- how many cycles has it been since your mc? I've had a few of those spotting at 7dpo and then not much more since mine I think it's still hormones in play..

H0peing · 31/07/2021 15:22

@Miscarriage39 That's terrible! I have a friend who was on the waiting list for recurrent miscarriages after 3 and she told me that the waiting list was about a year long, so she chose to continue trying whilst on the waiting list and had her Rainbow Baby before she would have even been seen!

She couldn't afford private treatment so she just took a prenatal vitamin with vitamin D and folic acid, walked more and tried to eat and drink as healthily as possible.

I know there's no magical one size fits all way to get there but I really hope that you get your Rainbow Baby soon! Xx

H0peing · 31/07/2021 15:31

@MrsF111 Very frustrating! Maybe you could get some advice from a GP? Xx

MrsF111 · 31/07/2021 17:59

@kiwi17 the last misscarraige was in March, period came back late April and since then I’ve spotted in the days leading up to my period, days 32/33 to 36 then period starts, they have been light since though. With my first misscarraige it took a couple of months for my periods to come back but then I was pregnant again after 3 cycles.

@H0peing I am thinking it might be time to call my GP, not sure if they will say anything other than everyone is different etc etc. So frustrating

kiwi17 · 31/07/2021 19:42

Oh @MrsF111 similar to me then. I would speak to your gp as I said to mine about spotting last month and immediately got internal exam, day 3 and 21 bloods and an ultrasound. Haven't had the US yet but everything else came back clear for me so probably just hormonal :(

MrsF111 · 31/07/2021 20:06

@kiwi17 glad to hear they listened and you actually got bloods and a scan. I’ll call on Monday I think 🤞

Miscarriage39 · 01/08/2021 15:06

I would definitely call your GP, if I were you MrsF111. Hopefully they’ll run some tests just to be sure everything is working as it should be.

Do you have a date for your ultrasound kiwi17? Thanks for your empathetic frustration. Our GP practice is falling apart. It used to operate over two sits, but they no longer practice from one and seem to have all the patients from both using the same number of doctor who used to work at the main hub.

Thanks for your positive story H0peing.

kiwi17 · 01/08/2021 16:28

@Miscarriage39 no not yet - she said it was a 6 week waiting list and I haven't even had a date through yet! That sounds chaotic. We changed gp because our last surgery was a bit like that and you got the 3rd degree from reception every time you called for an appointment! Our gp now are much better. Is that an option for you? So I'm on cd27 today- no idea which dpo as I never checked and deliberately ran out of opks and didn't replace but for the first month since the mc haven't spotted for 6 days pre af and was getting excited that it might finally have worked but then this morning had the tiniest amount of pale pink/Brown when I wiped so now I'm fed up again plus have had lots of on off cramping so guessing that's it 😟

Annny27 · 02/08/2021 09:19

@kiwi17 sometimes my spotting is 7 days, sometimes 2, mostly 4/5 - there really is no rhyme or reason for it :( I am about 9dpo today

@babyghirl you have been quiet is everything okay?

@ELM7 i am made up for you 💕💕 how did hubby react and do you have any blood tests to confirm whether progesterone and hcg is rising as should?

@miscarriage39 fertility investigations are honestly so slow!

@mrsf111 that's so annoying that it wasnt a normal period for you this month :/

kiwi17 · 02/08/2021 09:33

@Annny27 well it was a day of spotting this month as af came in this morning bang on cd28. So currently riding the why is this so hard and it will never ever work again rollercoaster and why is it so easy for everyone else I know?! :( ah well. How you feeling? I was also wondering where @Babyghirl had got to!

Babyghirl · 02/08/2021 09:33

@Annny27
All good still here just taking a few days to relax after my 13 day stint in work lol, was talking to a girl I live beside who had an ivf babes as she one of them who can sense things I was telling her my story and she said has done that I will get my angel baby in Sept we'll going with the last 3 Sept falling pregnant I said its possible lol,
How r you and everyone else holding up 💚

SunnySideUp2020 · 02/08/2021 10:03

Congratulations @ELM7

So happy for you!!!!!!!🥰

Miscarriage39 · 02/08/2021 11:13

Oh kiwi17, sorry AF has arrived. I know it’s so emotionally difficult, but maybe the reduction in spotting is a good sign that your body is recovered from the miscarriage and functioning more as normal now. Fingers crossed for your next cycle.

Unfortunately changing surgeries is not an option because we live in a village.

Babyghirl · 02/08/2021 11:20

@kiwi17
Still hanging around lol was just taking the weekend to chill with oh after working flat out on cd6 today so not long to go lol, how r you holding up 💚

kiwi17 · 02/08/2021 11:26

@Miscarriage39 yeah I guess so! Spoken to the receptionist about my 22 day bloods and she said they all came back satisfactory but waiting on prolactin and thyroid so who knows? It's all so frustrating and tiring isn't it? Ah that makes sense re. the surgery although super annoying for you. @Babyghirl yeah not great just fed up with continuously failing cycles and people announcing pregnancies left right and centre. Also gutted that I'm going to get to my due date in Sept of my mc and not even be pregnant which I know is going to really hurt :(

Babyghirl · 02/08/2021 13:05

@kiwi17
Awwww big hugs its soul destroying I knw, ask them for the numbers mine came bck 16. 5 so still low but over 16 x

MrsF111 · 02/08/2021 15:03

@kiwi17 sending you hugs, for my first due date I found the lead up horrendous but in some ways getting past it was freeing. I was so desperate to be pregnant before it I was putting too much pressure on myself, although it’s easy to say that to someone else, a whole different ball game to actually put it into practise 😘😘

kiwi17 · 02/08/2021 16:08

Thanks @Babyghirl I will last time they emailed the results to me so I'm going to ask them to do that again. @MrsF111 I can only imagine how much harder it's going to get :( but I know what you mean about it being a freeing thing plus due to holiday plans for next may which hopefully won't get scrapped this time 🤞 I think we'll try once more this cycle then give it a rest for Sept so hopefully that'll take my mind off it for a bit anyway. It's rubbish the more the gp tells me to just relax the more I stress about it - plus it's easy for her to say that with her many kids!!

PeanuttyButter · 02/08/2021 16:34

@kiwi17 yea I know what you mean about the due date, I can't get mine out my head and it's not for months yet. There's nothing I can say that I know will make anything any better except you're not alone and I hope you get a BFP soon x
