Trisomy 14 experiences

Hello
Having now had three missed miscarriages I have now had genetic testing done on the last baby I lost.
This has come back positive for trisomy 14.
My partner and I now have to get blood tests next week to check for 'balanced translocation'
A lot of what the consultant said to me has not registered at all.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
If you have miscarried or had to terminate because of trisomy 14, have you went on to have a healthy baby?
Or does this mean we have no chance at all of a successful pregnancy?

My head is all over the place at the moment.

@MovinOnUp can I send you a direct message?

We went through something very similar but not on chromosome 14. I just don't feel comfortable discussing it publicly (I don't know why).

Drop me a message if you want to

@JustaBurnerName yes please do. Thank you.

Here's a decent explanation. Dp experienced this, they had ivf

Hi, I’m sorry for your losses. We had a trisomy 14 with one of our mmcs, had the karotyping after to check for translocations and it came back normal and put down to bad luck, went on to have a few more mcs and gave up due to age. So it can just be one of those things - think it was age and bad luck for us. We do have a dc born before our run of 9 mcs. Hope you have better luck and get your baby x

I have balanced translocation, even within recurrent miscarriage it is quite rare so it may still be bad luck. If you do have BT the options are continue trying naturally knowing you have much higher risk of miscarriage or do IVF with genetic testing. Have you had a pattern to your losses at all? What I will say is don't lose hope, there's a great Facebook group where there are loads of success stories. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions ❤️

Thanks everyone.
@Pepelepettigrew yes I suppose there is a pattern, horrendous symptoms from day one, baby shows as healthy at seven week scan, symptoms disappear around week 10, baby has always died between 7 and 9.5 weeks.
