Do progesterone levels increase?

It's my first month of BCP and I know that means I can't tell much from this cycle. BUT, I've had quite a lot of spotting - first mid-month and now just when I thought I was getting AF, I've had 3 days of spotting without her showing up in full force. I also had quite a bit of breakthrough spotting when on a low dose pill. My research seems to be telling me that these issues all point to low progesterone.

So my question is, will progesterone levels increase on their own? Is it possible that all of the spotting is just down to a wacky first cycle off BCP, or is it indicative of issues that won't change?

Thank you!

Any spotting between periods should be checked out medically to ascertain the cause. Its often not serious.

If your progesterone level is low the chances are the other hormone levels like LH and FSH are awry too.
