I’ve been reading about inositol in its various forms and wondering whether it’s worth my time and was hoping to hear other people’s experiences with it. Did it work for you? Why did you take it? Do you think it helped? That kind of thing.

The reason I’m considering it is that I have a high follicle count and slightly irregular periods (24-35 days, mostly late 20s), but possibly not ovulating and not diagnosed as PCOS. Would like to hear how others found it. TIA.

@SwimmingOnEggshells thank you for replying! Can I ask, did you take it because you knew you had PCOS?

I've never had a formal diagnosis because I was on the pill for years, but any time I came off dianette for a few months I'd lose head hair, grow other unwanted hair, spots, irregular periods, and slightly high testosterone, ugh! I think I went 90 days without a period and once I started inositol I had ovulated two weeks later, maybe 2.5. My cycles were getting shorter, and then I got pregnant. I kept taking it while I was pregnant because I think it's also preventative for spina bifida. Best of luck op!

I tried it for my PCOS and it was wonderful in many ways, but the one downside, I gained quite a bit of weight in a very short space of time despite not changing my calorie intake. I had to stop it for that reason.
