A bit puzzled by this really. Did a one step test a few weeks ago. Got what looked like a faint positive. So rushed out to get a second test - different brand. Negative.

Next day - negative with fmu. Same the day after that.
Then left it a whole 7 days just in case - still negative.

Wtf was the first test about if I’m not pregnant? I thought false positives were impossible. Have had no bleeding.

For disclosure I should add that I’m not ttc and am in fact on the mini pill (and over 40) - a positive test would not be an ideal scenario right now. I have no periods so no idea re dpo or anything like that. I shouldn’t be ovulating really.

I’ve attached pics of the supposed positive plus the latest negative.

Anyone had anything similar?

Didn't want to read and run! Your first test seems like a positive to me, what made you take the first test? And have you tried a FRER since? Failing that I'd explain to doctors and ask for a blood test just to be sure.

Not done a frer but surely 9 days later it would have been a clear positive if there was anything to see (the second pic is 9 days after the first).
