Progesterone and aspirin

So I've been doing a lot of research and have read taking progesterone and aspirin can be helpful. I've had 5 mc all ending at about 5 weeks. Has anyone taken these medication, if so, did you start it after ovulation or positive test and has it helped?

Hi @RainbowsAndRain, after 4 miscarriages, I started taking 150mg aspirin (new nhs recommended dose) from 1dpo. I then got a bfp at 8dpo.

I was scanned at 5+4 at EPU where we saw a heartbeat so they also prescribed me progesterone to take up until 16 weeks. My progesterone levels had been great from blood tests, but they said a boost wouldn’t do any harm.

I’d started myself on the aspirin without taking to a doctor. I did then tell the midwife at my booking appointment, she checked with a consultant who said they were happy for me to continue taking it, and that had I mot already been taking it, they’d have started me on it anyway. I’m still taking 150mg and am to continue taking it until nearer birth.

@Moominmiss that's really good to hear! I've been told to take them by my consultant after bfp but it's not working so I think I'm going to give aspirin after ovulation a try. Just debating whether to take progesterone after ovulation or positive now. Hoping this cycle will work out for me!

I’d say to do the aspirin from ovulation and the progesterone from bfp. Purely because the progesterone could delay your period if you haven’t fallen pregnant and could give you false symptoms.

Good luck!
