To continue taking progesterone after light bleed?

Hello, I need some advice. I am 40. We have 2 DS and have been trying to conceive a third for about 2 years now. Last August I had an early miscarriage at 7 weeks which started with bleeding. My gynaecologist did an ultrasound and noticed only a very thin lining. After lots of mumsnet reading on the subject and getting quite handy with ovulation tests, I told her that my luteal phase seemed to be short (about 9 days) and was concerned that this might have caused the miscarriage. She agreed and prescribed me progesterone which I have been taking ever since. The advice was to take the progesterone from ovulation and stop when my period started.

Fast forward to Jan this year and I got my period at the expected time...oh well I thought..another failed attempt and stopped the progesterone. Except my period turned out to be unusually short and unusually light (but still some bright red blood). It was stop and start over 2 days. After I realised my period wasn’t going to become heavier, I took a pregnancy test and was surprised to get a positive (I had no symptoms like I did with my other pregnancies). I quickly resumed the progesterone hoping the 2or 3 days I had missed it after getting my “period” had not thrown me off track. However at a 6.5 week scan, things did not look promising (feral pole smaller than expected) and by 8 weeks, a missed miscarriage was confirmed (no growth, no heartbeat). I had medical management to help things along which went as well as I could have expected.
Now things are repeating themselves. Since Saturday morning I have had 2 days of unusually light bleeding (bright red blood but the normal flow hasn’t kicked in which is unusual) and I just got a faint positive at 13 dpo. However no pregnancy symptoms at all.
So my question is, should I continue with the progesterone in the hope of a viable pregnancy or will this just somehow keep my period at bay indefinitely? If the progesterone supplements are preventing my period and there is no viable pregnancy, then will I be stuck in limbo not knowing for god knows how long. Another complication is that I finally have an appointment for my first Covid dose next thursday and would avoid taking it if I knew I was pregnant.
So I guess my question is, if my period is going to come, will it do so irrespective of me taking the progesterone? Thank you.
