Hey everyone
I just joined Mumsnet today so wanted to introduce myself 😊
My husband and I are on month 5 of TTC. We're 28 and 30. I have always had very regular periods and came off contraception almost two years ago (my body just doesn't agree with the pill). The only thing I unusual I note is sometimes I get really bad period-like pains if I do strenuous exercise, which I try not to Google too much as it tells me it's endo straight away!
Originally when we first started trying I went to see the doctor, who prescribed folic acid and potassium iodide. However, I found it completely messed up my regular cycle. For the first time ever I was over a week late for my period and had really sore boobs (I always get sore boobs as a PMS symptom but this was next level!). So I spoke to doc and he said it shouldn't affect my cycle but if I want to stop taking them then I can. I chose to stop as the change in my cycle meant it was really hard to track ovulation.
I guess I'm getting to the struggle point each time my period comes now. I go through the two weeks of hope and as soon as my PMS symptoms arrive I get pretty miserable. My husband did an at-home sperm test last weekend to put my mind at ease, and that came back all good.
Anybody else in the same boat? How're you dealing with it still being early stages of TTC but getting disappointment each month?
