Sharp pains near both ovaries

Hi about a week ago I started getting really sharp pains in my left side near my ovary/intestine area. It continued for a couple of days then went away for a few days. Last night I had the same pain again in the same place but the pain was really intense. Today I have had the same pains but now on my right side!

Has anyone ever experienced this before? I’m 9dpo but I know it wasn’t ovulation pains a week ago as a scan confirmed I ovulated on my right side not my left.

Weirdly, ovulation pain doesn't always correlate with the side you ovulate on. Your ovaries move around a lot inside. And even in the ovary that doesn't ovulate, there is still a lot going on.

Could it be gas? It can be easy to mistake digestive pain for ovulation pain. It's the same general area. But maybe speak to your doctor if you're worried.

@kennetrose that’s interesting about the ovaries moving around. I had never thought about that. Either side I know it’s not ovulation related because I ovulated 10 days ago. It could be gas I suppose. I’m not actually sure what the gp would do as I’ve recently had 2 scans and it comes and goes.
