Positive test after period

Hi,

I've been trying to conceive for 3 years and had a MMC and a Chemical Pregnancy within the last 12 month. So I have become somewhat of a serial tester during the dreaded TWW. Anyway, I did my usual testing routine and all of them came back BFN's, then AF arrived 3 days early on Wednesday. I thought this was strange as I'm usually like clockwork and the bleeding only lasted 3 days (when it's usually around 5). This in itself confused me as my cervix wasn't even in the right place to start AF and I had no AF symptoms.

So, me being the now strange woman with a draw full of tests, decided to take another one last night and I'm sure I can see a very very faint line but there definitely wasn't one there before I started bleeding.

I also took another this morning and negative but one I did this afternoon has a faint line again.

I suppose my question is has anyone else had something similar? And if so did it turn out to be good news and a healthy pregnancy or should I just give up hope on this one?

Could it have been implantation bleeding you've recently experienced rather than an actual period?!

This happened with my third child. Took lots of tests all negative. Had what I thought was a light ish period for 4-5 days which was when my period should have been due. A day or 2 later I felt this overwhelming sense of exhaustion like I had with my other pregnancies so I randomly tested again expecting it to be negative. It was positive so must have been implantation bleeding. Never had it with my other pregnancies but it does happen.

You never know. Unfortunately, you will have to be patient and give it a couple of days to let the hormones build up. Some tests the evaporation lines can be very convincing though.

O and sorry about your mmc and chemical pregnancy. I have had multiple miscarriages and I know how devastating they feel. You will have a rainbow baby soon though and your love for them will help heal that pain. It really will happen for you whether this time is it or not don't give up hope xx

I'm so confused and just pretty mentally exhausted I think I've cried everyday this week.

I did start AF 3 days before I was due on, which I thought was strange but I had my vaccine so thought that could be why.

I don't know if I'm just clutching at straws and imagining it all but then I think no because my friend saw the faint line too this afternoon but it's vanished off the test now like it was never there.

I'm going to try my best to wait till Friday to test again (I'm not sure I'll have the willpower though) x

I'm really not sure. I did go on a implementation calculator I found online and entered when we last DTD and that said when I started bleeding could be implementation bleeding as the dates work out. I just can't stand this not knowing whether we have a chance or whether to go again for another month. I feel so emotional this month I just want to cry all the time. The waiting is killing me.

I’ve had the sane and unfortunately it never implanted properly. My HCG tests stayed in the low hundreds until I had a two week bleed a couple of weeks later.

@justanotherneighinparadise I'm sorry to hear that and for your loss. If you don't mind me asking, did your lines stay faint or did they get slightly darker?

This happened to me, period arrived 2 days early but lasted just 3 days and was lighter than usual. A day after the period stopped I had a faint BFP which got darker and is now 23 week girl.

Crossing my fingers for you @Waitingforarainbow87 that your line is beautiful and dark on Friday or whenever you test again.
What you describe sounds like implantation bleeding but with any pregnancy the outcome is not guaranteed as you well know unfortunately. All you can do is hope for a healthy 9 months and a sticky bean. I don't think that you have any worse chance because you have had this bleeding, hopefully it means the bean burrowed in nice and comfy and is just growing away.

@Waitingforarainbow87 I can’t offer an outcome just yet but wanted to say I’m in the same boat you and I’m currently experiencing the exact same thing and I am losing my absolute mind!!!

I got what I thought/assume was my period last Monday which was 8 days after ovulation , it’s my first proper cycle after MMC in March, thought it was odd arriving quick but assumed hormones still up in the air. Had a steadyish flow for 2/3 days. But I kept spotting from Thursday onwards which I never do, then took a test Sunday and it was positive!! I’ve done one each day , it got darker yday but I don’t think the line progressed today maybe a bit lighter so will test again tomorrow. I spoke to the Dr/EPU and they said they can’t say what it was or what’s going on, could be implantation but sounded more period like. They said I just need to sit it out and do another digital test In a week and call back to see if it’s progressed! I’ll keep doing others tests in the meantime so hopefully can gage it

I’m holding on to hope but I just don’t know. Ive heard of successful stories so it can happen, Sending you lots of positive thoughts and hope it works out for you! This TTC journey is exhausting and with losses in the mix it’s even harder not to go totally crazy! X
