First midwife appointment?

When did you have your first midwife appointment? I rang Dr's a month ago to inform I was pregnant and the receptionist said she will pass my details onto the midwife and she will be in touch to make my first appointment. Im now around 8 weeks 2 days pregnant and still haven't heard from the midwife. Just curious to see when others had their first appointment

I think it is often around 10-12 weeks for booking in

I had a booking appt at 7 weeks, but it wasn’t with my midwife, and I think I had it really early!

My first midwife appointment is supposed to be at 16 weeks. I’m hoping I get some contact details for her then

Mine was at 9 weeks. But it was a phonecall and she just phoned me randomly one afternoon i.e. it wasn't a booked phonecall. That was first contact after phoning reception a few weeks earlier. Perhaps that will happen for you? You could always phone reception and just ask what they're doing - will it be a phone call (ask what days MW works) or will it be f2f.

I had mine when I was 9 weeks, it was a booked telephone call.

I'm now 14 weeks and at my scan they mentioned a 15 week midwife appointment but haven't heard anything about that yet, though see mentions of a 16 week appointment on this thread so maybe I misheard and it's 16 weeks?

@Violet1988 Yeah it's 16 weeks - about a month after your scan. Then a month after that is your next scan, and then you see the midwife again at 24 weeks. That's as far as I can remember!
