Is this a positive pregnancy test result?

Hello everyone!

DH and I have been ttc for 6 months. We were really trying to time everything perfectly but no positive results so far, until today, maybe.

What do you make of this? It's a First Response test, as I'm testing about 6, even 7 days, before AF. The test line is so thin, I'm a little afraid to get my hopes up. But it does say on the box even a faint line if positive.

Any similar experiences with results like this? Did they turn out to be BFPs?

Thanks!

@BusySittingDown

Yep, that's a definite positive! Congratulations 🎉 Flowers.
You don't think it could be an Evaporation line? Blush

I don't think so. On the photo it looks too pink - evaporation lines usually look clear, I think.

Ok, let's hope so! :)

I have everything crossed for you! So exciting!

sunlight81 · 15/06/2021 21:30

Evaps tend to be brighter pink and hairline to one side (like at the edge of test line). This was a dull pink, solid and fat.

Any twins in ur family? At 8dpo it's pretty strong so u never know!

I have twins and mine didn't show up this clear until 12dpo!!

pigglepot · 15/06/2021 21:34

That's a very clear positive!

Maybe it's nit clear in the photo, but the positive line is very thin actually. The thick line is just the control line.

My grandad was a triplet but not apart from that!

@Serenissima123 it's definitely a positive, if you do another test now the line should be darker if you're still wanting to make sure

Evaps tend to be colourless and super faint and appear as the test dries. I've never had an evap on an frer I've had some indents but they are grey lines that I can only see in certain lights.

The line will be fainter and thinner to start as there isn't much hcg. It doubles every 2-3 days.

The reason people are saying this is a strong positive is as frer are so sensitive it can pick it up very early and the first line especially that early is usually a lot fainter (mine was visible in person and pink but so faint it wouldn't be picked up by the camera, this darkness is usually what people get a few days after the first squinter positive.

Do you know when you ovulated? (Track using ovulation tests or temperature?) if it's an app just predicting your period you may have ovulated earlier which could explain the darker line.

It's definitely positive though but if you're still unsure take another test to prove it to yourself :)

Thank you @firsttimemummy321 :)
The reason I was doubting was because I don't remember how long I waited exactly before the line showed up...may have been 10 minutes.
I think I ovulated on day 13 of my cycle and it is now day 27 - my cycles usually last 31/32 days, or more

@Serenissima123 I've had many negatives and even when left for a week and had a minor indent appear I've never had a line that bold and pink appear definitely not so soon and it not been positive :)

Serenissima123 · 16/06/2021 15:50

There's no denying it now! My period isn't due for another 4 days or soo... Maybe it is twins!

When it's been consistent negatives for several months, as many will understand, I was a little afraid to get my hopes up, so kept telling myself it was probably just an evap line... But praise God for this gift :) Thank you for all your informative support and congratulations, everyone! Wishing you happy conception and parenting journeys. xxx

@Serenissima123 if you ovulated day 13 and you're now day 27 then you are 13dpo, so your lines totally what would be expected around those dates. You just have a longer than average luteal period, so in somebody where it is average you would be only 1 day before period due. CONGRATULATIONS! Re booking in, I would recommend doing that ASAP given the big rise in pregnancies recently and waiting times on 12 week scans. Even if you need to end up cancelling it, it's best to mark your place in the queue now.

@Noodella18 Aah ok, that makes sense. Yes, my cycles in general are quite long, especially the luteal phase.

Good to know, will book in asap then! Thanks :)

Hi ladies, I am currently 9/10 DPO and I took a cheap strip test and think I see a very faint second line, do you also see it? Both of these photos are of the same test in different lights / exposures.

Why post this on a zombie thread? HmmHmm
