Could I be pregnant?

Or is it highly unlikely?

I had my coil removed in April as my DP and I had planned to start TTC around August time for various reasons including my doctor advising me to give my cycle a few months to regularise after being on the pill/the coil for a very long time.

I have been using the Natural Cycles app to track my cycle since April. In April I had a withdrawal bleed about a week after having the coil removed, then my period later that month. My Period in May came bang on day 29, as it always usually did (90% always a 28 day cycle - but I was on contraception)

Now, as DP and I were waiting for August we have been good and using condoms. Well apart from one time last month when we got a bit carried away and had unprotected sex for about one minute max before I reminded him we really should use a condom, which we then did. My DP was definitely nowhere near coming (but I appreciate it isn't impossible that sperm could have been present - just unlikely right, I mean we had just started!). Of course this minor slip up was on my ovulation peak (OPK test confirmed - Natural Cycles gives you a couple of days a month to test for ovulation do I was doing that.

So, I'm now two days late. I'm always do regular but I'm only on my second months post coil removal so my cycle could be adjusting.

I feel a bit pre-mensural, not crampy, bit bloated perhaps. Same as I always feel pre period.

What do you think. Could I be pregnant or do you think it unlikely?

Even though we wanted to TTC in August, I'm really nervous that I may be pregnant now! Silly I know! But surely I can't be....unless I've got pregnant through osmosis or my DP is super fertile (I'm probably not "super" fertile as I'm in my Kate 30s!)

Ps I know we were like silly teenagers not using protection for that initial minute. Please be kind, I'm really nervous.

X

I'd say unlikely and u could be late because of the anxiety .. but there's still a chance! Anything stopping you just testing? Because at two days 'late' if you're beginning to be regular will show a positive....

There shouldn't be any reason I don't think to wait only so you maybe emotionally are better as if irregular after it could be exhausting hoping you are just to be late. Also for dating purposes so you have a lmp date.

It's not impossible but in the first minute I would say it's highly unlikely.

Withdrawal from hormonal contraception gives lots of confusing symptoms and to make it worse the normal early pregnancy symptoms are very similar to AF so hard to tell the difference.

If you're late a test would show positive now so if I was you I'd do one just to be sure for peace of mind.

When we tried and I got my positive I felt the same suddenly super nervous, I'm pretty sure it's normal as even if you want it it's still a huge change it's normal to be nervous as well :)

You say you use natural cycles does that involve taking your temperature? You could use this to determine when you ovulated, on average your period arrives 14 days after ovulation so you may not be late just ovulated late?

Highly unlikely…. But welcome to the world of TTC obsessing over every tiny change etc! Good luck when you to start trying x

Thank you everyone for your kind replies. AF made her appearance this morning so no early BFP for us.

So this was indeed a small glimpses to what it will be like come August! Wow! It literally was all I could think about. I had things to pee on at the ready and had semi rehearsed how I was going to tell DP.

Looking forward to joining the TTC club in August with you all. Best of luck everyone xxx

Sorry to hear AF arrived and you are right this is definitely a glimpse. First 3 months I was totally convinced and planning how to tell DH and family! Cycle #6 and I am just starting to chill out a bit!

@Hopefulhedgehog fingers crossed for you!
