@Slk3558 oh no that sounds really intense but also appreciate the heads up 🙃 this sounds gross but I just want to know what the throwing up feels like so I can mentally prepare - I know I'll regret saying this.

I've heard others drinking coke so as long as you're trying to get something down into your stomach is what matters. I feel for you. Have you tried asking for medicine? Sounds like it might help you. How does it affect you working, are you managing to work or taking time off? I hope you're doing okay, it doesn't sound fun 💕

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/06/2021 12:02

@choccrumpet @Slk3558 glad you're both doing ok, bar the sickness! I'm just waiting for af to shove off so I can start all over again this month! I was feeling a bit rubbish having done so much but actually having thought about it with my oh's sa results I'm hoping that now it's just been 3 months since he's given up smoking that we actually have a much better chance! He gave up before he had his children with his ex and also when I got pg the first time so 🤞🏻🤞🏻

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/06/2021 12:41

@Marvellouslymadmum I really think the giving up smoking and all the antioxidants also 🤞They said it only takes 2-3 months to clean it up with diet and vitamins etc for my partners SA (that he ended up missing....)

@Slk3558 sorry you're so sick, that sounds so miserable. Definitely speak to GP if you don't get better, there'll def be something they can give you.

@choccrumpet hopefully it doesn't get to the puking stage for you!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes that's what I'm hoping anyway! He gave up properly this time on 4th April so this month it will be 3 months that gives us this month and next month to try until my gynae appointment lol how are you feeling?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/06/2021 12:49

@Marvellouslymadmum exactly! I'm okay thanks, I'm feeling okay-ish still, had a bit of a boring weekend tho. My dog had a stomach bug so we chilled here together. How was your weekend?

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 28/06/2021 12:51

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 aww poor doggy, it was ok thank you just a quiet one here. Went to the gym and hid from the rain lol

choccrumpet · 28/06/2021 13:05

@Marvellouslymadmum smoke free for 3 months is brilliant! Do you think he'll keep it up for longer when he doesn't need to anymore? It should definitely help contribute to the positive changes. But also allow yourself to be sad, you need to let the frustration go too.

choccrumpet · 28/06/2021 13:06

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 poor doggo! I did the same basically bar the poorly doggo, my cat chilled with me instead 😆

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/06/2021 13:10

@choccrumpet absolutely, he's given up so many times before and started again (once for 10 months!) but this is the first time he's actually realised what an impact it makes on his health, not only with his little swimmers but his heart rate, blood pressure etc too. I'm over the grumps again now and on to a new month lol don't think there's anything left I can add in but will persevere with everything else!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/06/2021 13:13

@choccrumpet aww bet your cat is more into cuddling than my dog!

@Marvellouslymadmum it must be so hard to give up smoking like that after so many years!

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 28/06/2021 13:20

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I would imagine so, he's been smoking since around 19/20 I think so 20 years apart from giving up sporadically. He's on a right health kick now though!

choccrumpet · 28/06/2021 13:38

@Marvellouslymadmum hopefully this might be it for him 🤞🏼 I didn't grow up with many smokers so don't really understand it or the need to keep doing it. A friends husband tried giving it up whilst they were ttc plus when they had their baby but with no luck. I know second hand smoke can be just as bad as doing it yourself so I don't really know how people keep doing it knowing how harmful it is for all those around them. I'm not trying to be judgemental btw, it's just because I don't really get it so don't understand that side of it so can't empathise. And it's great he's seeing benefits now, it IS crazy how much it affects someone!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 haha she is temperamental and does what she likes. She was a rescue so didn't come from a nice environment so it's taken a long time for her to be more comfortable. She's still scaredy and jumpy but a lot more loving than when we first got her. So some cuddles with her when she was in the mood!

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/06/2021 13:53

@choccrumpet I've grown up around smokers, my parents and grandparents and he's the same, luckily myself and my brothers and sisters only one smoked and gave up years ago. So I do get how hard it is luckily well as much as you can without having to do it yourself 🤷🏼‍♀️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/06/2021 14:02

@choccrumpet haha my dogs a rescue too and so self sufficient, his highlight is to go to daycare and run around with all the other dogs. He's temperamental with cuddles also, sometimes he feels it, other times he likes to snooze alone. Miss when he used to sleep in bed with me when we first got him, now he goes to his own room (his choice!) 😢

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 28/06/2021 15:58

@Marvellouslymadmum that probably makes a lot of difference! I think I grew up thinking it was really bad so never had an interest in it luckily!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 he sounds very cute and very like a cat actually 😆 ours goes through phases of sleeping with us in bed or somewhere else in the house, she's been with me past 2 nights but is always changing where she'd rather be.

Slk3558 · 30/06/2021 11:52

@Marvellouslymadmum how is your cycle going this month ? Are you doing the soy this month? My morning sickness has really intensified the worst part is im struggling to eat or drink anything, ordered fries and milkshake from McDonald’s last night and vomited it straight back up. Gone off everything 🥺

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/06/2021 12:25

@Slk3558 that sounds horrible! You poor thing. I had acupuncture this morning for nausea, felt sick enough before to be worried about getting on the tube, after I feel great. Just ate a magnum and about to make some lunch - this morning I was nibbling one a manky dried cracker. Might be worth trying if you've one near you, just so you can keep some good down

choccrumpet · 30/06/2021 12:40

@Slk3558 that sounds awful. Have you tried getting medication to see if it helps? Acupuncture could help too. Make sure you speak to your gp or midwife for support if it's that bad.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that sounds amazing, I haven't liked the sound of chocolate for a while now and I normally love anything chocolate 🙈

I'm feeling a bit sad for myself today. My nausea got quite bad yesterday but still managed to eat some food for each meal. This morning had a bit of nausea but now it seems to be gone. I know symptoms come and go but it is so hard to get out of thinking that something isn't right. So I've rescheduled my scan for tomorrow for peace of mind. Not sure if that was a good idea at 6+2, whether they would be able to see much or hear a heartbeat, although I might be a bit further along than I think or maybe not.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/06/2021 12:59

@choccrumpet it's worrying and I've had som panics about symptoms subsiding, but they then tend to come back the next day or so. And I keep reading it's totally normal for them to fluctuate a bit. Plus isn't it about six weeks that hcg stops doubling quite as fast as it's in the many thousands? So your body might adjust a bit more.

I think a scan at 6+2 will be lovely, and it means you can go again 2/3 weeks later (if you want) and still have your 11/12 week scan - as you're meant to leave two week gaps between them. I had mine at 7 and a bit and now got to wait until 10 weeks for my nipt, so earlier would have been better (for me and my obsessiveness) Good luck lovely for your scan

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 30/06/2021 13:36

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I actually haven't researched too much into this and maybe it would help and maybe not, depending what google shows me. But what you're saying makes sense and I hope that's the case.

Thank you I hope all is good and it's reassuring that the other way around🤞🏼

In terms of scans I've heard others say it's fine to have them more often and to have more in a smaller time is fine and not having to wait in between but I'd say each to their own and to do whatever we're all more comfortable with. If everything goes well I'm not sure if or when I'll schedule another one but will probably just take it a day at a time.

I've still got sore boobs and tiredness, frequent urination but I know symptoms can continue during an mmc too. I guess you're never 100% assured unless you have a window into your womb and get constant feedback that things are as they should be 🤣

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/06/2021 14:01

@choccrumpet stay not googling! I need to chill out about it! It makes me more stressed I think, but I'm a control freak 🙈 and not all of the stuff is helpful.

Here, it's about six weeks they stop doubling www.verywellfamily.com/when-do-hcg-levels-stop-doubling-every-two-days-2371281 but it was from quizzing the poor woman at EPU to figure out what they're meant to do and when that I 1st heard about it.

I did actually try to book an earlier private one with the same place but the sonographer said better to wait until my 10 week nipt unless medically necessary 😬 so it feels like a really really long wait now boo

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 30/06/2021 16:22

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've had no bloods done to check my HCG, the controlling part of me is struggling with not knowing 🙃

Google just told me that there's a good chance I will hear a hb tomorrow but not guaranteed. So hoping that will be the case.

Okay that makes sense, I'm sure they've got their own protocols about this sort of stuff. It does feel like a long wait, everything feels like a long wait at the moment 🙈 trying to still enjoy the now and be present rather than wishing it away.

I'm feeling exhausted now and ready for bed.. so maybe the nausea is giving me a break today because it'll be worse soon?? 😆

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/06/2021 19:36

@Slk3558 oh no! I've got to say when I was pg with my son, I would really fancy something to eat make it then eat a healthy portion only to throw it back up 🙄 I'm about to start poas tomorrow in the hopes that I get a more normal cycle this time! And no I did maca last month so will stick with it this month then maybe soy again next month

@choccrumpet symptoms definitely come and go a lot! They should be able to see something at 6 weeks I believe, good luck for tomorrow! I do wonder how our mothers and grandparents coped! My mum didn't have any scans with me and was in hospital for 10 days when she had me!

choccrumpet · 30/06/2021 20:30

@Marvellouslymadmum sending positive vibes your way for a better cycles!!

I've no idea how they coped 🙈 I guess when you're used to something and that's all you know you've nothing to compare it to. Whereas we've got almost too much info and not enough sometimes still and both aren't great! I'm feeling a bit off this evening, had a nap after work, so symptoms not completely disappeared but not much nausea today. Am trying to remain positive and ignore the lack of nausea. Tomorrow will be a long day 🙈
