Hi,
I already have four children and im waiting to get my tubes tied ( im 29 so have to jump through hoops) me and dh use the withdrawal method as i dont take well to the pill etc. He had an accident 10 days ago. I did take the morning after pill after ( we have a emergency supply) but i brought a test today to be sure and got this its very faint so maybe its a false positive?

Hey @Considerthis201! I can see a very faint line and a tinge of pink. Did this show within the time window?

Considerthis201 · 10/06/2021 14:43

Came up within seconds and its more pink then the photo

Hi OP. That looks positive to me, I’m sorry if that’s not the news you want. I would assume that you ovulated on the day you DTD and that you’re 10 dpo, hence the faintness. Is this FMU? I’d retest tomorrow but brace yourself for a BFP.

Considerthis201 · 10/06/2021 15:01

Im going to wait until my period is definitely late then retest but due to the morning after pill im going to leave it until July before i test again i think

It does look positive.

As an aside, can't your husband have a vasectomy?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 15:11

I've had it like that a few different times.
once it was a false positive, got negative result after 4 days
the other times it was a positive (got the kids as proof)

I don't think I could wait until July, but re-test next week, first morning pee

best of luck

That isn’t all that faint. Looks definitely positive, sorry OP if that isn’t what you want to hear. Withdrawal is totally ineffective as a contraceptive though.

RizzleRazzle · 10/06/2021 15:21

That's definitely positive. Why wait 3 weeks to test again?

Mummyme87 · 10/06/2021 15:36

That looks pretty positive to me.

Partner can get a vasectomy, get him down to the GP.
If you’re not wanting to continue the pregnancy then would start making plans and contact local TOP providers

Considerthis201 · 10/06/2021 15:49

He doesn't want the snip.
In between my 3rd and 4th child i had a late miscarriage and when i got pregnant with dc4 i went crazy with tests and i became completely obsessed with lines etc i cant go down that route again so will wait until my period is late by a few wks test again and then get an early scan. Abortion isnt an option for me.
