I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my 13 month old. I havnt had any periods. I’m wanting to try for another baby so I’ve been using ovulation sticks. But I’m really confused ? Am I just not ovulating at all?
Any advice ?
Has anyone conceived whilst breastfeeding ?

In my case I had to stop breastfeeding to start ovulating properly again but I know other people who have conceived whilst breastfeeding.

Your gp should be able to do you a 21 day progesterone test that will tell you if you are ovulating properly and your hormones are balanced. I had an oestrogen dominance whilst breastfeeding which meant low progesterone so I was never going to be able to hold a pregnancy to term.

I'm trying for number 2, I've got my periods back and am ovulating but keep coming on too early (after a positive test) so not sure if I'm having super early losses causing the early bleeding hv or if I'm getting pregnant but my bf hormones are shedding the lining to soon 😩

Best way to confirm ovulation is to take your bbt. From this it doesn't look like you're getting a surge. How often do you feed?

If you're not having periods - you won't be ovulating. How often are you feeding?

My DD is 2yr 7m and I am still not ovulating properly. We are down to to feeds a day. I think she will have to wean completely before we can ttc again.

Should add I've had af back for well over a year now

My daughter is almost two and I still haven't had a period so I think I will have to stop feeding if I want to conceive. I did read that adding extra calories into your diet can help, especially if you have a lower BMI but no luck for me yet!

Haha wish the extra calories worked for me but I'm still infertile and now a bit chubby too.

Hi OP,

I'm 9 weeks pregnant after falling pregnant whilst BF my 17 month old. I hadn't had a single period since DS was born and he was an IVF baby...
