First period after D&C

Hi all, I had a MMC at 9w2d, exactly 6 weeks ago today I had a D&C. I got my first negative hcg today, still no sign of AF 😔 It would of been my first baby so keen to start trying again as we had been trying for over 6 months before I fell pregnant. They found fibroids during my ultrasounds and my GP thinks I have pcos due to high androgen levels. I am now on metformin and I just want my cycles to return. Is it normal for a period to take this long to return ?

Also to note I had 30 day cycles before pregnancy and had positive opk peaks each month.

Hi @Jaimecx sorry to hear about your miscarriage. My AF took 8 weeks to return and I was very stressed about it after 4/5 weeks of waiting. Since then I have had another cycle of 35 days. My gynaecologist told me not to worry and get back in touch if I hadn't had a period in 8 weeks but no reason to be concerned. My doctor also made a good point, we expect our bodies just to return to normal straight away and need to give ourselves some time to heal. I think AF took around 4 weeks following a negative pregnancy test if that helps. X
