Faint lines

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help or let me know their experience as I am driving myself mad doing pregnancy tests at the minute. I had a miscarriage just over 7 weeks ago at 8 weeks pregnant. I haven't had a period since the miscarriage but don't normally have regular periods so am not surprised. I have been doing random pregnancy tests, first to make sure it went negative which I think it did and then just out of curiosity while I waited for my first period as we carried on trying. On Friday I got a very faint positive test however they haven't got much darker since. I obviously have no idea on dates but thought they should be getting a little darker at least by now? I know i am testing far too much but the unknown is making it worse!

Did the test deffo go negative so you know everything is out your system?
Also with having no period, assuming you don’t know when ovulation was? You could well be pregnant.
How often are you testing? Every couple of days is best.

As PP said did the test go negative properly after your MC?

I had a MMC and was fainting faint lines like this 2 months after. I ended up with a small amount of retained products and my HCG was only 7. But enough for faint lines - I wasn't pregnant again (even though we were trying again) but I had retained products.

Also so sorry for your loss. My MMC was at 9+1 so I know how heartbreaking it is xx

I thought it had gone negative by about 4 weeks post miscarriage but now I am questioning it.

Just horrible being in limbo. I don't think I had such faint lines last time either. No idea on ovulation so I suppose I could be testing too early.

@Jlk84 I thought the same about mine. On some tests I was negative and on others it was the faintest of lines.

I'm not saying what happened to me will happen to you! I think the retained products is quite rare but if the line isn't getting darker etc I would maybe speak to your doctor xx

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Did you have to do anything about the retained products or did they come away naturally?

Yeah. Once I thought it was negative I didn't test as much to be honest. I have only tested a few times since as my period hadn't come and I think they were negative until these.

I had to go for a scan which confirmed. I was then given really strong antibiotics in the hopes that would shift the remaining products. Luckily for me, it did. And I fell pregnant with DS 6 months later :)

But, it probably isn't the case for you! The lines might not be getting much darker as you're earlier in the cycle. I'd try a FRER maybe?

Oh, your 04/06 test is definitely lighter than the 06/06 one? I think they are getting darker. Definitely get an FRER! Xx

I think they are getting darker and I think you’re pregnant again. I would try a proper test now and if positive you should have a nice line!

So I have still been testing and I know i probably seem absolutely ridiculous and don't think I have done this in any of my other pregnancies but I am still paranoid that the line seems so faint considering I first tested positive on Friday?

Could you ask for a blood test to see if your HcG is doubling? X

Because 6 and 8 are in different lights it’s hard to see if it’s derker

Can anybody help.
I was due on Monday, I took about 7 tests on Monday all positives, even digital clear blue was ‘pregnant 1-2 weeks’ tests were taken throughout the day. Tuesday tested in the morning & it was negative & then this morning tested and it’s negative. Haven’t had any bleeding yet obviously, do you think it’s the start of a miscarriage?
