Ovulation Test Advice Please

Trying to conceive #2. Fell pregnant quickly with DC 1 (cycle 3) and didn't do any testing or tracking other than keeping a note of day 1 AF so I'd know my dates. We just had regular sex - easily done when you're child free!

This time I'm still BF #1 and I've had a two very early MC. I'm already on cycle 7 and tbh we don't have time to have sex every day. I'd ideally like a small ish age gap and DS is already 18 months so we need to get things moving.

Obviously complete novice but thinking about ovulation tests so we can prioritise days. How do people use them, in terms of do you test every single day or just a few days in the cycle? How to you know when to test?

I generally use clear blue or FRER pregnancy tests as they're easy to use so would naturally probably choose clear blue ovulation but they seem expensive if I need to test on lots of days.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Perhaps should have said I think my cycle is generally around 28 days.

@dopeyduck sorry for your losses 💕
We're cycle 7 of trying for number 2 as well :) ..also had multiple early losses, I think bf still (even though a lot less) is making my luteal phase short (this month I had a super faint early positive at 8dpo and then my period started :( longest it's been was 13 days last month (had been gradually getting longer so thought it was returning to normal 🙈

I've always used ovulation tests as I love knowing what's going on (I also temp to confirm ovulation as you can have multiple surges in a cycle)

I use the one step ones from Amazon and take 1 a day at about 10am if possible then when they start to darken I take 2 a day about 10am and then about 4pm :)

I'm no expert but happy to answer any questions if I can :)

I just starting using the clear blue 4 fertile day ones. I started to test on CD9 and I got a flashing smiley CD11 - CD16 for high fertility and peak at CD17. I started to test twice a day once I for them flashing one. I have found them easy to use. They are expensive as you say but I find the sticks hard to use and I would be rubbish tracking my temp as I am not a good sleeper!
