I am 38 (will turn 38 in 2 weeks). I have just made the decision to become a single mum with the use of donor sperm. I’m from the Netherlands and work in Canary Wharf, Finance. My family and friends all live in the Netherlands (I need to work on building a new group of friends in Londen).
I am really exited to start this journey but at times also anxious. I don’t know anyone that conceived or is conceived with the use of a sperm donor and sure what to expect. So I am very grateful for the information here on Mumsnet :). It answered a lot of my questions.
I hope that you can share a bit more of your experience as a single mum and the process you went through to conceive.
-How is it to be a single mum and work full -time / in the city? Can you cope?
-How is it to get help from a nanny? What to expect and what not to expect?
-Does not having a male figure in your lives affect the child? Does it bother your child?
-How is it to go through the IVF / IUI process alone?
