Coming off depo injection

Hi folks,

My partner and I have decided we want to try for a baby ideally falling pregnant after December sometime. Wouldn't be a disaster if it was earlier but would make lots of things easier.

I'm 38, have 2 children already, 12 and 7. First baby took 3 years to conceive and in that time I found out I had PCOS but only mildly. Father was on testosterone shots for most of the earlier part of trying which is much more likely to be the reason.

Second baby I had sex once in 4 years and fell pregnant, in my head, that was a total miracle!

I know there is no answer to this so i don't know why I'm asking really apart from to hear your experiences.

I've been on the depo injection for 2 1/2 years and my last one runs out at the end of June. We have talked about it and on the understandjngthat it will take a while for my cycle to sort itself out, this will be my last one.

If you were on the depo injection before ttc, how long did it take your cycles to become regular and how long did it take before you conceived?

Hi op,
Happy you're getting off the depo shot. I wouldn't recommend it to my enemies after being on it.
I was only on it for about a year and after reading all the horror stories I got off it.
My period came fairly quickly thereafter. Probably two months. However, my period was never the same again. Maybe this is just my story, but I my cycle would bes me spottingfor over a week before my heavy days would start so the total bleed time fould be twow weekse eevery month. My period came on time though, but bleeding half the month every month was terrible.
When we decided to try I had a mc, then another one. Being over 35 I qualified for fertility clinic referral. Took all the tests and everything was good, except for my progesterone. That was the reason for all the spotting prior to heavy flow.
Started taking progesterone and spotting stopped and period went back to being 6 days. Feel like a normal woman again.
We also got pregnant three months after starting progesterone and I am crossing my fingers this time it sticks. This is our first.
I don't mean to discourage you, I hope everything works out well for you, I am just angry that they would recommend depo shots knowing how many people struggle after coming of it.
So to answer your question, it was about two months since I started bleeding again but it wasn't regular (14 days of bleeding 😵😵😵) for almost 3 years till I started progesterone at the beginning of this yr.
