Chemical Pregnancy :(

After 1 and a half years of trying, I finally got my first BFP a few days ago (with 1 day to go before my period was due). I was over the moon, the timing was perfect and felt like it was meant to be... Then when I tested the next day, the line was lighter. The next morning it was lighter again and I started to worry... Especially when I started getting some spotting. Eventually my period started that night.

I knew with it being so early this could happen and it's not uncommon, but I still feel devastated, I really thought this was finally it... I had to call into work sick today because I keep crying. To make it worse, it's the most painful period I've had in a long time too!

Would be great to hear from anyone with positive stories after a chemical... Especially if you had tried for a long time before it! Help me feel a bit more positive that I won't have to wait another year+ for a glimmer of hope...

I have lots of chemicals (ttc 13 months, 6 chemicals, 1 mc) and my fertility consultant said a chemical is actually a good sign that everything works as it means you are getting so far along. The thing then is either egg/sperm quality or something else going wrong at or after implantation (low progesterone making a thin lining, thyroid, clotting, immune system stuff). But as you have only had one it could just be a one off - they are pretty common and you only know by testing before period is due. Don’t be too disheartened! Flowers
