get pregnant without having 'full' sex or the man coming???

I haven't had af since the end of July which was ages ago....DP has had a few problems with his little fellow staying alert so we have been having what the boys in wrok call 'heavy petting' where DP has come but not in me (sorry if TMI!!!!) He has been in a couple of times but not come.

I stopped taking my pill at the beginning of July as I wanted to lose some weight and was struggling with it and had previously never lost any when on the pill.

Sorry if this is basic but Sex Ed didn't exsist at school and it's very intimate to discuss is RL as people will think I'm very innocent for a mum of 2!!!

Hi there, the only way you could become pregnant without full sex if is you artificially inseminate. As you're not doing this then you absolutely can not become pregnant with out full sex and least of all if your partner does not come. Semen needs to enter your uterus in order to conceive. Hope this puts your mind at rest.

A quick google suggests it's very very very unlikely you could be pregnant - but not totally impossible. 'Pre-cum' fluid can contain sperm but studies seem to suggest this is not viable sperm. But that's just a google, not expert knowledge. In any case if he's coming near you and then you're having penetration later in the same session then that would be risky. You don't really want any sperm from an ejaculation inside you, whether it gets 'fired' in through ejaculation or not - they do their own climbing up inside and can live for a long time in the sort of egg-white cervical fluid you get at fertile times.

Test just in case?

Sorry to say but my mother got pg doing exactly what you & your dh have been doing.

sandcastles · 19/11/2007 02:53

Sorry, wanted to add...

They used the withdrawel method, where he pulled out before he ejaculated.

I think it would be well worth a test, just to make sure.

I have heard of people getting pregnant by using the withdrawal method (which is what it sounds like you are describing). It is not a very good method of contraception if you really don't want to get pregnant, but ok I guess if you don't mind either way. I am actually using it in the hopes I will be one of the statistics for those it failed

I think the only way you will know for sure is to test. Good luck and I hope you get the result you want.

lulumama · 19/11/2007 17:10

if your DH puts his penis inside you, there is a chance of getting pregnant, as before he ejaculates, some seminal fluid is released and it contains SPERM!! so if you are ovulating you can get pregnant

unprotected sex, which is what you have been doing, can get you pregnant

sorry if that is not what you want to hear, best to take a test and take it from there
and if you are not pregnant, use some other method of contraception!

in addition to lulumama's post, I've read that pre-ejaculate (the bit that seeps out before he comes) will only contain live sperm if the man has ejaculated within 24 hours. Any longer and the sperm don't survive in the urethra.
