2 week wait and DC now has chickenpox

There is nothing I can do anyway but I’m in the 2 week wait but DS has developed chicken pox. I had it as a child so should have immunity but it isn’t ideal. Can’t tell anyone why I’m worried but just needed to share with someone so sharing here. Thanks for listening.

I don't know much about this, @Timekeepspassing but I was pregnant ( about 5 weeks) when DC1 got chicken pox and it was fine. I'm feeding DC2 right now. Fingers crossed for you this month 🤞

Why are you worried? If you had it as a child, you are immune and it won't have any negative impact regardless of outcome of 2ww

(Good luck with the 2ww & test).

I was not immune and both my first & second child got it when I was in the first trimester of each subsequent pregnancy. I was given immunoglobulin treatment by iv in hospital & all was well.

Unfortunately having it as a child doesn’t necessarily mean you are immune- majority of cases yes but not always. Also as I’m not known pregnant or not yet I can’t be tested for my immunity or be given immunoglobulin if not. I know the risks of minuscule so shouldn’t worry but my overactive brain won’t shut up.

Your immunity will have been checked with DC1 surely or don't they do that anymore?
