Heyy,

Does anyone know the distinctive differences between implantation bleeding and a period ?

I believe implantation is light spotting and more pinky or brown

Also, it doesn't occur later than 12dpo. It wouldn't fill a pad (normally) and it stops after three days the latest (also, normally).

@Bundaberg84 I would respectfully disagree about the 12dpo point - spotting in the first trimester is usually due to IB and is common up to 8 weeks I think?

I had implantation bleeding the day I was due my period, but currently 9 weeks pregnant x

Bleeding and spotting is common in the first trimester, but implantation bleeding specifically is usually between 7-12dpo when the blastocyst burrows into the womb lining. It can be pink or brown and not usually heavy enough to fill a pad.
