When using clear blue ovulation tests

When using the clear blue advanced digital ovulation tests, how often would be recommended to have sex?, is it a good idea to start prior to start testing for ovulation? X

I personally started trying as soon as I got a high (flashing smiley) every other day from then until I got my peak. I knew when I was going to ovulate so dtd day before my peak on the evening of my peak and then day after x

@Rmw99 thanks for replying, my cycles can vary sometimes so have been a bit unsure of when to start testing, want to try and make sure I don't miss any important days, what you have done sounds like making sure you have it covered. X

My cycles varied a bit between 26-28 days maybe even 30 (when I'm stressed) my last cycle I started 7 days after my period as I think that's what it said on the leaflet, I got my positive pregnancy test 2days ago. Good luck xx

@Rmw99 congratulations! I've not long finished IVF in march so that has messed my cycles up the last cycle before this one was 38 days that's the longest one I've ever had and this was was 28 days but only seems to have lasted two days so far. I started testing on day 6 so I didn't miss anything. Thank you ♥ xx

Hey @Lauraliverpool I would say as above also :) we done that before I had a MC previously and I got pregnant! This cycle we said we’d DTD every day of flashing smiley and I had 8 days of it!!!! Not recommended as by the time the static smiley came he had had enough lol! My advice would be do some cheapie ovulation strips alongside it especially as you reach the flashing smiley just helps to know for sure what’s going on! I got a static smiley yday and didn’t think the test line looked that dark nor did it on my cheapies....then this morning my cheapies have shown a bright test line so clearly ovulation is still to happen! Need to break that news to partner that he’s required again tonight lol. @Blondiebrownie96 when we had our follow up at the fertility clinic the consultant said try the day you get the peak then for a few days after but trying to get hubby to understand that we need to be trying more can be frustrating lol, this cycle I had 7 days of flashing and felt like they were wasted as nothing happened so would have been good to at least have put a few of those days to good use. Trying to keep positive, this period only seems to have lasted two days and has stopped. We did the deed the day after I got peak. Xx
