Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriages

Hi all! I was looking for advice and maybe some success stories? I think I need a hand hold

I got a really strong positive 12dpo on a FRER yesterday and starting spotting today. I know it's not over til AF comes knocking but I know in myself it's going to happen as my boobs never got sore and heavy.

(Excluding potential current loss)
TTC- 15 months
Losses - 4
Chemical pregnancies - March 2020
Before 8 weeks - Oct 2020, Dec 2022
9 week loss- Feb 2021

I'm on preconception vitamins, vit d & extra folic acid ttc

Prescribed aspirin, heparin and progesterone from a positive test (I haven't made it this far yet)

Assuming this a chemical pregnancy, what next? I saw a fertility specialist privately and all my losses are unexplained

Is it time to start looking at IUI or IVF? Are they even successful with recurrent losses? Don't know how much more my little heart can take

I'd love to hear anyone's advice or especially success stories xx

Hi again @hopenwish

To clarify - what did the fertility specialist do? Was a biopsy ever done of the product? Has a DNA fragmentation test been done for OH? Have they tested for natural killer cells on your side?

Hi @Juno231! I've had a full panel of bloods for hormones, clotting, NK cells and an internal ultrasound to check for any issues.

No product testing at all. OH hasn't had any testing done. Just been told because we've fallen pregnant a number of times he should be fine... which I don't think is a real answer

We're in NI and it's very behind when it comes to any woman's health issues which I'm finding really frustrating because I feel like my pestering my GP to get anything done

@hopenwish ah I see! Tbf I think DNA fragmentation has to be done privately (maybe check out if examenlab in Belfast could be for you?) - but the cause for the MCs could definitely be due to OH's swimmers, even if his standard SA comes back perfect. Is there a recurrent miscarriage clinic in NI for you to be referred to? I think they're the ones would normally do a biopsy.

Overall though I'm so sorry this is happening to you and I'm still holding out hope that it's just implantation bleeding.

Another thought - have you been checked for fibroids or funny shaped uterus? That can cause MCs as well if in the way of proper implantation.

@Juno231 I'm definitely going to push for OH's analysis. We were given a story from his gp that he had to be referred by my gp and my gp said his was telling porkies. So we're getting a bit of a run around

We were referred in December but apparently it went missing. We were referred again three weeks ago but they said it would be a couple months. Can't blame the health service with everything going on but I also can't help but get frustrated.

I'm driving myself crazy. The first thing I did when I got home from work was so another test. I know I'm not supposed to compare lines too much bc of water intake, etc but it looks like it may be darker than yesterday

Someone needs to lock me away in a box without my phone or tests 🙄 xx
