Hello,

First month ttc after implant removal a few weeks ago.

I ordered some opks and the premom app.

I had my period for 1 day last week as I'm guessing my hormones are all over from the implant.

Today I tested it on an opk to track my cycles and the line was darker than the control line and said it was 'high' on the app.

Yet the app also says I'm not due to ovulate until 10 days time!

What if the stick lines go lighter after todaybuntil AF and I've missed it don't? I don't want to miss my window to ttc yet I'm confused.

I thought it went 'high' and then 'peaks'. But surely I won't be high for 10 days?!

I also don't want to dtd constantly for a month and exhaust ourselves too soon!

Can I be ovulating now? I will attach a picture of the opks. Thanks guys.

The contraceptive implant or implantation OP?
How long ago was your implant removed?

Yutes · 25/05/2021 21:21

Your OPK generally indicates that you are due to ovulate in the next 24hours.
But I’m asking questions because you may want to consider POAS.

@Yutes thanks for replying!

Contraceptive implant. It was the nexplanon. The nurse said fertility should return right away away no hormone of the implant should be in my system after 7 days.

A started doing the opks a week afterwards just to track my cycles and the line was very light.
Today it's that dark line but the app said no ovulation for another 10 days?

The app could be wrong though.
Most apps use standard 28 day lmp cycles, but most people don’t have that. Your OPK looks good to go. So get BD.

But as said already, id be tempted to take a pregnancy test as well. I’ve no experience with contraceptive implants but if nurse said fertility returns straight away, and you’ve been BD and only 1 day bleed, it could be implantation bleed? Its entirely possible 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi there, as above said, don't go by the app. It will generate an ovulation day based on a 28 day cycle, making ovulation day 14, 2 weeks before it says your period is due. I have 27/28 day cycles but I ovulate on day 11/12 most of the time. That's why OPKs are good. 2 lines the same strength is high, but when the rest line is darker than the control line That's your peak and you'll ovulate within the next 12-36hrs they say. Although I just say the next day. Good luck 😊

Pinkpup200 · 25/05/2021 22:14

@Yutes that's a valid point I hadn't thought of!
Would I still get 2 lines on opk though?

@Dreamer30 thank you!! Do you think I could potentially be ovulating now from that line?

I'll BD anyway just to be sure!

Usually once you get your peak that confirms ovulation is coming the next day lovely. Definitely get busy tonight though and tomorrow to be sure. Then it's the waiting game lol that's the hard part!

It took two years for me to get pregnant after having the implant removed, though I was advised the same. Everyone's different though. Apps work to a classic 28 day cycle, some you can override. If you've only had a period lasting 1 day I wouldn't count that as a true period. Wait for the next and see how that goes. I'd take the one day as breakthrough bleeding which could be a good sign it's returning. By all means, take advantage of that OPK but track how things go from here on out.
